"I am rolled for $100NL but I just don't have anything like the necessary confidence or the ability to bounce back from a minus 3 buyin session."

Maybe I do. I am down 8 buyins so far at $100NL, but I will continue to persist - the curse of being overrolled is that I won't have the excuse to move down until I've lost 22 more buyins...

Breaking even at $100NL 6max, then, is my September goal. I also need to find a new poker room now that InterPoker are fucking over their lower-stakes players (see http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=42112 for details).

Failed at every one of my August goals. I suck.

Goal for Sept...Not to suck. Seriously, my goal is not to have a 3 buyin win one night, only to have a 3 buyin loss the next. Break even poker sucks.

My BR has been stagnant all month. Fluctuates between $1700 and $1950. Can't break the 2K ceiling.

August goals:
10K hands
I hope to maintain $1500 a month
Probably take a couple shots at 200nl FR and 200nl 5max. I am bankrolled for it, just haven't done it yet becuase I have been running well at 100nl

August Results: 10k hands $2200 poker profit $440 Bonus money
Overall + $2600 -- 3rd month in a row I have beaten my previous high month.

Playing mainly 200nl SH lately
Results by category
$200 nl SH 3150 hands 6.73 ptbb/100
$200 nl FR 2600 hands 5.6 ptbb/100
$100 nl SH 1900 hands 1.2 ptbb/100
$100 nl FR 2500 hands 18 ptbb/100

sample size for each category is small, but overall running well

September Goals: Playing 200nl FR and SH 10k hands
$2500 would be nice

August goals

1) Win at least 100000kr = $13900 Won $21623+ $1400bonus = $23063

2) Play more than 50000 hands. Accomplished

3) Play at least 30000 hands of 400NL and hopefully make it my main game for the future. Only played about 24k hands 400NL, instead I excercized good table selection and then decided to build a PokerStars bankroll for 400NL at their soft 200NL games

(no exchange rate in chart)

September goals:
Same as my August goals.

Well we have a $4k downswing in this graph which took me 15k hands to get even from. However, this was mainly due to taking a shot and running bad at 1000NL.

I'm about $150 short of what I wanted to get my BR to ($6k).

September Goal: Play 40k hands and win at least $2k.

Variable Goal: Take a shot at a higher limit.

August results
Played on 19 separate days (lovely 10 days cruising in Caribbean with wifey)
5000 hands (4000 at NL100 and 200)
Bankroll increased by $1,350 ($950 + $400 in bonuses) to 4.6k
Ran at 10.5 BB/100 for all levels in August
How did I play? Rating 6 / 10 (a winning month puts the rating 5 or above).
Generally hit a lot of negative variance (which I was waiting and ready for). However, I honestly played poorly for most of the month and went through a stretch of making bad river calls during the downswing (I think because I was trying to end it – not advised!)

Other August stats
Agg Factor up from 3 to 3.5
C-bets dropped from 86% to 76% which has helped I think (winning at 75% when I do)
I raised more hands and called less hands this month to last

Goals achieved during August
Beating NL100 and 200 at over 5 BB/100 (running at 10 BB/100 overall for these levels all time)
Loosened up: from 18 / 6.5 since last report to 22.2 / 8.6 in August
Made money
Kept a better balance between real life and poker (most important!)

September goals
Become established at NL200
Join a couple of good new sites with Rakeback (thinking Full Tilt and InterPoker)
Play 9000+ hands (including at least 3000 more on NL100)
Play on no more than 5 sites (hopefully less)
Less Bonus hunting – at NL200 it should be about consistency of site play, knowing regulars / collecting data, and Rakeback.
Try to further improve balance between real life and poker
Get at least one new poker book (Sklansky / Harrington as recommended)
Get to know a few more of you guys on FTR better

September stats goals
Get PFR% to half of VP$IP (increase one and lessen t’other). Focus on positions 4 - 6.
Lower my call % on river (13%) and monitor my fold % on river (19%). This has been the biggest leak I can find for this month – my W$SD% when just calling on river was 24%.
Examine my blind stealing – “Chance to Steal & Raised” in PT – and try to increase it from this month
Add more suited connector play to my weaponry and research and learn how to play them well (big loser for me currently)

Notes
Bonus hunting took me to too many new sites this month which cost me $$ while adjusting. I feel if I had put more hands in at enjoyable, regular sites that pay off my style, the bottom line would have been better

September dreams
Find a way to get Rakeback at Paradise!
Get my first Royal
Have my most profitable month yet ($2000+)

[edit: updated to Aug 31 for record keeping]

Good luck everyone!

August goals
* As I said, I'll try to play 7k hands/week. Maybe invest in another monitor and play more. (4-tabling at the moment)
/// only played 18k hands, i moved and shit too, just settled in. got my second 20" today actually.

* Get used to 200NL and win as much money I can. I can use most of the money for my bankroll, so growing that will be the primary goal.
/// $5400 @7ptBB/100 mostly at 200NL is nice, took some shots at 400NL but i felt kinda scared. withdrew some cash for investing in a second monitor.

SEPTEMBER GOALS
iäve started studying again after a year's break (at uni) so i'll see how much time i get on my hands. i've got two monitors though so hopefully i can play a bit. i plan using my Rakeback as support for my student life, we'll se if that's enough. br is the primary focus.

My August goals were to barely play, and spend all month studying for the my prelim exams. I didn't play much at all and aced my exams even though about half of the people taking them failed. On one of the few days that I did play, I won two donkaments and made 2K. I finished the month up about 3K.

I can already tell that graduate school is going to be harder than shit compared to college, so I won't have much time to play. My goal is to play for about an hour or two a few times a week and really make that time count. I won't be playing enough hands to be able to set any realistic winrate goals.

1) Play at least 25k hands
2) Avg + 1 buyin/day.
3) Move up to 100NL and become a winning player at that level.

August Results - Started a real proper poker bankroll and stopped tilting/playing underrolled/being a Joe Sunday Afternoon poker player. Started on 2NL and moved up to 10NL within a couple of weeks (Properly rolled for once)

September goals: To completely crush 10NL (I'm owning 10NL, but not crushing it at the mo), to stop stacking off with QQ preflop and TPTK/overpair postflop when I know I'm beat. To get good at 6max, as my FR game is much better.

Results: $5500 playing 200nl and getting pwned at 400nl.

im pretty happy with these results as i ran @ 9.5ptbb/100 over 16k hands at 1/2.

september goals:
-got my computer equiped for 2 monitors, so im aiming for 50 k hands played in september.
-make 5ptbb/100 at 400 nl over 10k hands
-10k total profit.
