I've been reading alot of poker room reviews, and every review about Pacific Poker claims that it has some of the worst players. Is this just a scheme to try and get you to sign up thru thier link? Has anyone had any experience there, or recomend it? The only bad thing I see is thier lack of NL ring games, although they do have NL SNG's. Any feedback is appreciated. Would the variance from having lots of bad players in LH make it difficult or not worth it?
Sorry, that was clearly the wrong forum |

Pacific Poker does have some bad players, but I wouldn't venture to say that they are any worse than Party Poker.
A quick review......
- You can only play one table at a time there. That just plain and simple sucks.
- Secondly, the games are pretty slow so unless you fire up another poker room and play another table plan on alot of yawning.
- Thirdly, their deposit bonuses are available to you IMMEDIATELY. You don't have to "clear" the Bonus by playing a number of raked hands. If you deposit $100 you will have $125 available to play with at the tables immediately.
- You already hit on this one: no NL ring games. They do however, have NL tourneys.
- I am in the middle of my first cashout there. I cashed out late last night so we will see how quickly they get the money back in my Neteller account. I will update this bullet point as soon as I receive my money.
Overall, nothing that really stands out about Pacific Poker other than the immediate access to the deposit Bonus.

Anyway, there's my 2 cents on Pacific Poker. Hope it helps!

To add to jm points:
- I have made 2 cash outs, and both were in my bank account within 5 days
- There is no chat at the tables, they do have a chat box, but it opens seperately and I have never seen anyone in it (not sure if this a plus or minus)
- The have micro-limit limit ring games .05/.10, .13/.25, .25/.50... so you can gradually move up is stakes.
- The have NL SNG for a little as $2+.20 (20 player, top 5 pays), 5+.50 (10 player, top 3 pays)
For people that have limited bankrolls, I highly recommend Pacific. You get your Bonus immediately and they have many different micro-limit games to choose from.
The players are much looser then over on UB, which is the only other site I can compare it with. |

Thanks Jes_Gru -
I defeinitely concur with Jes_Gru's extra points. If you are on a smaller bankroll they definitely have some nice micro-limit games to choose from.
As for the chat, personally I like not being able to see any chat unless I make the effort to open the extra window. Kinda takes one added distraction out of the game without actually having to go through the extra step of muting chat like in every other poker room. |

I have found Pacific to be VERY profitable. It is my favorite place to play. They have really good tournaments, both MTT's and SNG's. For a beginner no limit player the 2.50 + .25 buyin are very nice.
2.50 + .25 buyin NLHE 5 man tourney
1st gets 6.25
2nd gets 3.75
3rd get 2.50
You don't win much, but you have to be a really bad player to lose much also.
They also have 10 man 2.50 + .25 NLHE and FLHE SNG's and a 5.00 + .50 5 man FLHE.
HUGE choice of SNG's.
They have 5 cent and quarter limit games just like everyone else, but they also have .10/.20 limit rings that are very loose and easy to beat.
I will second what everyone else has said about the software. The software is total shit. No multi tabling and the game play is very slow. I usually play Pacific and another site at the same time so I don't get too frustrated.
I will also second the opinion that Pacific has the worst players. It is customary for 60%+ to see the flop on limits all the way up to .50/1.00. At the 1.00/2.00 limit games, the play is a little tighter. You can run into a few sharks at the 1/2 tables, but they are pretty easy to spot.
Keep in mind you do need to change the way you play at Pacific. There is always someone on a draw. If a flush or straight card falls and they raise on the river - they have the hand.
2 other drawbacks - you can only view hand histories within their software. I don't think there is a way you can import hand histories into Poker Tracker.
My cashouts there have been pretty slow. 6-7 days, but I have always gotten the money. I hate slow cashouts. |

| I play at Pacific and second pretty much everything Ihoney2 said about the site. One other thing is they have a lot of 20 person/2 table SNGs for $2, $8 or 16$. The top 5 payout and with 20 players there is a good chance of getting some decent money. |

Xianti -
I apologize. I have not looked at the links on the FTR affiliation page for a while. I guess it would have been wise to look there first before posting this. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. |
