I havent played in a few days, took a test today in school. Will be moving on Sunday too, so we'll see when I get the Intarnets again. Hopefully in a week or so, I'll be back then.

I have been running good, (7-8ptbb/100 after 2k hands or so) but I'm preparing myself for the swings. Stars is full of regulars, still don't know if I can't beat them long term obv. This gave me a good start though so I have some breathing space. 1000NL would be nice in a few months or so, I'll have almost half a year to dedicate to poker so it could be fun!

(Maybe I should start an "operation 2007" thread so I won't be hijacking your Wink)

Lifetime 6max hands, 600NL from about the 113k hands mark:

Wow man, savage graph. It's taken me like 400,000 hands to get to that stage. Yeah get your own thread you're making me look bad in here!

btw I got killed for like 5k at 1kNL last night. It was nasty.

Did you find any good tables or just feel like taking a shot? (1kNL) I've played 100-200 1000NL hands but man it's scary Razz Got set-over setted, no more for a while Wink Grind 600NL is the main plan.

I found some really good tables. I def had a huge edge there but yesterday was downswing day for me. It was just a bunch of straight out beats though so I'm not worried.

I got set-over-setted for 200bb yesterday. Fun experience.

Yeah I was kinda meaning to make a post about that. I think it's a combination of a whole bunch of things.

I had no clue about pot control. I'm checking turns and doing other shit alot more now that I wasn't before.

My image manipulation and related skills have improved a whole bunch. I posted some hands in this thread where I'm shoving against 4bets with JJ and stuff and being right just bacause I have a good read on the flow of the table and my image. I coulda never done that stuff a few months ago.

I'm just starting to cotton on to stuff like game theory and mixing up your play now. Stuff that extends from the theories of image manipulation I guess.

And plus I'm just running real good at the moment. Well at least I was until yesterday.

Nice to hear your thoughts. Keep blogging.

The hand: Why did you think he'd fold? I would put him on 77+ here and they seldom fold that turn.

Operation Mini-Operation Update:

Just pulled an all-nighter. Almost 31k hands now. Profit is $15,222.

Not running as good over the last few thousand as the hands before that. I just noticed that if I include hands from before I changed my username I'm at 6ptBB/100 for 50,000 hands now!

K I'm off to do some laundry.

Mini operation is still chugging along nicely. I'm 36,500 hands in now with a total profit to date of $21,800.

BR still hasn't hit 40k because I dropped some money playing 1kNL. I'll get there soon hopefully.

It's probably me but hey, keep up the posts and I look forward to reading you have made the 75K you're after mate!

Thanks for reading.

Are you sure that you understand properly what 600NL means? I mean a No Limit cash game with blinds of $3 and $6 and I sit down with the max. buyin of $600. Does that make it more clear?

Smashed through the 40k BR mark today with my biggest ever pot, a total of $4021.

In other news: I had a 4- 5 buyin downswing at 400NL earlier on in the night. Nothing to worry about, lost a set-over-set and two underflush hands plus a bunch of other tough decisions. I clawed my way back to nearly breakeven with a combination of some good 600NL hands and a bunch more slogging at 400NL.

That was before I ran reasonable at 1kNL:

Seat 1 : smrad has $665.25
Seat 2 : ganf01 has $227.01
Seat 3 : Irisheyes has $2,006.50
Seat 4 : skipeedee has $3,023.75
Irisheyes is the dealer.
skipeedee posted small blind.
smrad posted big blind.
Game [99911] started with 4 players.

Dealing Hole Cards.
Seat 3 : Irisheyes has 9s 8h
ganf01 folded.
Irisheyescalled $10 and raised $30
skipeedee called $35
smrad folded.

Dealing flop.
Board cards [6s 9d 8s]
skipeedee bet $44
Irisheyes called $44 and raised $110
skipeedee called $110 and raised $220
Irisheyes called $220

Dealing turn.
Board cards [6s 9d 8s Qc]
skipeedee bet $400
Irisheyes called $400 and raised $1,192.50 and is All-in
skipeedee called $1,192.50

Showdown!
Seat 3 : Irisheyes has 9s 8h
Seat 4 : skipeedee has Qs Ts
Board cards [6s 9d 8s Qc 5d]

Irisheyes has Two Pair: 9s and 8s
skipeedee has Pair: Queens
Irisheyes wins $4,021 with Two Pair: 9s and 8s

BR = $40,100

Played some more 400NL over the last day or two. Ran good, up about 5k or so. I have to make some withdrawals now to pay for college stuff which sucks a bit but it has to be done. I think operation mini-operation is completed now I'm just not sure because I'm home from college andI don't have full PT access at the moment.

I saw a post on 2+2 just there about how not taking shots is costing people money in poker and it inspired me to grow some balls a little bit. So I'm gonna take the rest of my bankroll (about 40k) and concentrate on trying to beat party 5/10 for a while. I'm going to set a stopper at the 35k bankroll mark and if I run bad I'll drop back to 400NL at that point. Hopefully I'll run hot and own the place for a while though.

I'm also going to try and play alot less poker from now on. I'm really falling behind with college and shit and since this is my last year I really need to put in a big effort between now and my exams in June. I guess it can be my new years resolution. Play less poker, but more quality poker and try and improve my game to a point where I'm solidly beating 1kNL.

hey man

you re not the first person I've seen who's oscillating between 2-4 andn 5-10

3-6 is tough? what's the deal?

My br is around 30k but I'm still wimpishly donking around nl200 and I'm wondering about your reasoning behind jumping directly to nl1k. Do the games actually seem juicier at 1k than at 600?

The problem with 3/6 on Party is the lack of tables. For some reason there always seems to be more 1kNL tables running then 3/6 tables. Because of the lack of tables, they very quicklt get filled up with a bunch of TAGs who I don't really want to play with. The best way of describing it is that at non peak times, all the 3/6 tables are the equivilent of a table full of 2/4 regs.

5/10 seems to have a different set of players then 2/4 and 3/6 (which are kinda the same). I don't know if this means more fish or just a bunch of players who are even better then the 3/6 regs but here's hoping....

Amazing is not the word for it. I'm blown away by how good I'm running. If you scroll back there's a post I made where I withdrew all of my bankroll down to $3000 on the 21st Aug. Thants when I was playing 100NL. Since then I've made almost $55,000 dollars! In two months! I never dreamed I'd be able to do that!

Been playing mostly 5/10 and some 10/20 lately. It's being going pretty good and I feel like I can muster together some sort of an edge if I table select well. Hopefull all my days will be as good as yesterday was.

BR = $55k ish

BR = $55k ish

I just moved down to $10NL. Now I know where all my cards have gone for the last three months. Keep it up, nice to have "contributors" in FTR hitting those stakes.

Operation Mini-Operation is complete. This graph is half of Nov and all of Dec at Party 400NL. I'm really proud of this one.

The mini-op started about 15k hands into the graph. I cut it short after about 45k hands though to go play 1kNL. Where, btw, I got pwned for about 4k today.

Where do you play 10/20 at? I like Bodog 10/20 but I dont like being limited to 3 tables.

I just re-read this whole thread because I was bored and you've been doing so good lately and I remember the old days when you were breaking even over tons of hands and what not, it's pretty amazing what a long way you've came. This thread has actually inspired me just recently to start playing way more than I have been. I finally tonight came to the realization that the reason I play so little (15-20k hands per month on avg) is because I'm scared of failure. If I have a solid month I'll play less so my month doesn't get ruined, which is stupid obviously and kills my bottom line. I also suck at putting in the hours compared to you also, like every post in this thread by you earlier was "well today I played 5k hands blah blah." I'm not sure I could ever have that kind of work ethic and dedication.

Anyways now I'm just rambling on and on. Basically you've come a very long way and I'm proud of you man, keep it up. And yes you'll def have to come visit me if you come near this way on your trip to the states.

Aislephive, would the rest of your (non-poker) life suffer if you put in lots more hours? Maybe you really play 20k hands a month because the equilibrium is already about right?

OK I've decided I'm not good enough to beat 5/10 and 10/20 on Party long term. I haven't lost loads of money or anything I just feel like I'm getting outplayed too much and it takes all my concentration to hold my own there.

So it's back to 600NL for a while to grind and improve. Due to the lack of tables on party I've decided to multitable Full Tilt and party at the same time and try to get the best tables on both sites. That'll be my home for the forseeable future.

I'll keep things updated.
