| Someone teach me how to fucking run good. I have lost my last 3 +95% favorite hands allin. You throw in what should be a good amount of FE and I just don't know how much of a favorite I am. This hole sucks. I got a lot of good advice from Spenda last night, much appreciated. It just sucks like shit playing so well and dropping buyins like this. TJ gave me some great advice as well as not to play with scared money. I think that was a huge thing because Spenda could easily tell I gave up a lot on turns. Anyways, today I played just a little but I did play 25/24 which is helping me open my game more. I am also table selecting better which has been a key point why I haven't progressed much in the BR. |

| A lot of months work is now down the drain. I am down a lot now. Near the starting point of my BR. I am not quite sure what to do. Either play down, keep sticking to this as I am owed $200 in sklansky bucks or just quit. I'm not really looking for anyone to read this and have sympathy either. Hope I make that clear. Just writing down my thoughts. The money in my BR isn't something I can take lightly at all and is also all I have until at least a few years. I think I forgot how to play as I was doing pretty well before hand. I think I really would need like a billion hours of coaching, which I cannot afford. |

Try a change of wind.
Back when I was veeeery tilted, I tried my hand at Omaha. It did wonders for my game.
Check out some HORSE, or 7-card stud. It really broadens your views. I've been playing HORSE lately and its good. Also, try PL hold'em. It will limit variance.
NL can be a true bitch sometimes, and if you are not careful, it can and will decimate your bankroll, if you allow it to. A change of wind wil do you good.
I was playing around on PKR, then I found this limit-Omaha HU table with the hottest lesbo-chat thing going on, I really really want to post the chat here to cheer you up, but then again I might out the players involved and that might not be so nice.
See what you can get if you vary your game?

WTF has the internet come to?
Anyway, check these out. These are shit I picked up along the way. It might aid you, or it might not. Some are for ring, some are for tourney, but these are simply things I observed and have stuck. Check 'em out, lemme know.

Alright, after dominating GMML in the Gauntlet as well as blind man's bluff, I realized that I was at least soooo much better than one player. Therefore I decided to play some. I think I may play like ~5 HU SNGs a day. I am doing pretty well with them and am pretty confident. I am also kind of happy with a few things I have picked up about aggression and putting people on ranges. I have so far to go though.
I decided to play some 25NL today and lost like half a buyin to a shorty when he hit his set vs. my AA. Later on I played again but this time with Alexos watching me. I had a few interesting hands to me at least. Also played 21/17 so I opened up quite a bit. It was funny because I really wasn't focusing on play more hands...but this was a small sample size. So that's my image and here are the hands:

1. Hmmm, i didn't like this at first glance. But i guess you're practically pot comitted by the turn cos of his stack size, so u may as well shove to gain a little FE (this is presuming he knows where his fold button is). I can't see him calling with a worse hand tho
2. I don't mind the PF call that much, but the less said about the rest of the hand the better Also, LULZ if he called and flipped over 1010 or JJ
3. Well he certainly won't try and steal ur blind again!
4. I guess u should fire again to charge for the FD (and the fact u may have the best hand) , but i always die a little inside when i build a big pot with TPGK.
5. Hmmm, this is close i think. Given no reads, i've tried to come up with a range i think a semi-donk might smooth call ur flop bet with (btw i know the turn card was a spade not i diamond, but i couldn't be arsed to change it all back ):
Text results appended to pokerstove.txt
4,840 games 0.005 secs 968,000 games/sec
Board: 6c 5h Th Jd
Dead:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 35.981% 31.98% 04.00% 1548 193.50 { AdKc }
Hand 1: 64.019% 60.02% 04.00% 2905 193.50 { TT-77, AQs+, AcJc, AhJh, AsJs, ATs, KhQh, KcJc, KhJh, KsJs, KTs, QTs, JcTc, JhTh, JsTs, 9h8h, 87s, AQo+, AcJh, AcJs, AdJc, AdJh, AdJs, AhJc, AhJs, AsJc, AsJh, ATo, KTo, QTo, JcTd, JcTh, JcTs, JhTc, JhTd, JhTs, JsTc, JsTd, JsTh, 87o }
You have next to no FE against that range, so i guess c/f is better? Seems really weak tho
p.s. Was your aim for this session to never check or call on the flop ever? |

But this guy succcks at 50/30 right? We can't push for value here?

Well I actually wanted comments on all streets because this hand = "LULZ" unfortunately

Haha. Do you like this line or is it too strong?

Yeah I hate TPGK as well. I hate a lot of hands. But I fold too much. Don't you think a better hands raises me or leads into my on turn? Sure they could c/r turn but can't we still bet for value?

Wow, you think all those hands call here pre after my 3-bet? I think we have tons of FE as he probably has like a weak mid PP. A set usually raises flop IMO.
| kettleofish wrote: | p.s. Was your aim for this session to never check or call on the flop ever? |
Haha. These were just a couple of hands. But overall my flop aggression was very high, though my overall AF was a 4...which is way down for me haha.
Anyways, much appreciated for your analysis!! My responses to your answers aren't me being a dick, but I need to question everything to get better, right? |

Okay, some slightly drunken replies:
1. U can push for value i guess, but i don't see u getting called by a worse hand is all. K10 -K8 or QQ, 1010 is never calling unless he is a spazz, in which case nice hand.
2. Okay then, i hate turn bet once he calls your flop c/r. The C/R in itself is fine, as he's only calling with a 10 or an overpair, but u have no need to bet the turn. IT's unfortunate for u that u went runner runner, but really NOTHING that calls ur flop bet is folding the turn, so essentially u are building the pot with a bluff.
3. I do actually like this line. There's no way this flop hit his hand, so when u hit the 9 u are ahead, and shoving the river is better than c/c IMO.
4. What bothers me is that you are WA/WB here. U may well have the best hand, but with 2 callers on the flop it's really hard to tell. But ya checking is weaksauce, so i guess u have to lead, and probably call a shove if either villian is so inclined. Sucky spot.
5. That's a super loose range i have given him, but even if u take out the less likely holdings (78s, 78o, 10J), u are still crushed by anything other than 77-99 (which is admittedly what i think he is likely holding). Remember that at this level people call 3-bets with a lot of suited broadway cards that have a ton of outs on this flop/turn.It's a flip at best, and if he is holding anything other than 77-99 he IS calling. Maybe i am being nitty, but i think assuming u have tonnes of FE here is wrong. I think u can wait for better spots to get your money in.
btw i'm glad u disagree with some of my points, as if there was a super simple way to play every hand then any clown could win at this game. But put simply, my main problem with these hands is that u seem to have taken hands with decent showdown value into bluffs. And i'm in the process of getting more aggro myself, so it's in my best interests to question things (since i seem to be down a tonne from b/f in recent days) |

Umm...I'm really posting because I have a new pic for Jack to format haha. But yeah I played some cash and finished up like a half buyin. Played a few HU SNGs and lost 1 to a fish (loltrappedu on stars). Teamviewer is being gay on me...also I think I am sick/getting more sick and I can't sleep.
Here is the pic, Jack. Take your time:

Thank you! No bigger picture, however . Also, I was just doing random searches for an avatar and found this pic...without her name . I'll probably search again for her and try to get it haha |

Haven't played too much lately but still have put in a decent amount of hands. Been getting sweated by a couple of people which helps so much. I also get to sweat others (and they are usually telling me why they made the moves, not me offering advice ha).
Today I played only a few hands in cash and did pretty well. I decided to try out two SNGs as well. The first one, I made the final table and then lost a 75/25 my favor which crippled my stack. I then lost a 60/40 pre to send me out. The second one I decided to only play 1 table and a little higher buyin than the last one. And fuck everyone (not sure why I wrote this):
Dear toddanderson,
You finished the tournament in 1st place.
A $67.50 award has been credited to your Real Money account.
Congratulations!
Thank you for participating.
Yeah not a huge score to most but damn I really needed this. This plus the gauntlets are doing wonders for my BR...coincidence? I even had a railbird when it got HU which was random because I didn't tell him I was even playing. I will get good at this cash game thing though. I am on my winter break so I plan to play a lot each day and post a bunch of hands. |

| Heater is still turned on for the time being. Won the Gauntlet and am up almost a buyin at 50nl in like 100 hands. BTW, only took shots because of the heater/confidence |

| Massive heater still. Played in an MTT and did bad though...gg villain flopping quads. Cash is going well though. Just played 400 hands so far and got aces 7 times. Variance is great right now. Up just over 2 buyins at 25NL. 6 tabling today and felt good, for some reason I will only multitable with overlapping tables...is that weird? |

I'm noticing that a lot of 25NL players at the looser tables will call all-ins very lightly. Top pair or draws...actually witnessed 2 calls with bottom pair on flop. Not sure if most think it looks bluffy or what. I am going to get completely ridiculed for hand #2.
Hand 1: Villain is saying things in chat/losing some pots to suckouts that makes me think he is on tilt. Ran 48/14/1 over a small sample.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)
CO ($18.70)
Button ($9.50)
SB ($22.15)
Hero ($43.50)
UTG ($31.15)
MP ($25)
Preflop: Hero is BB with , .
4 folds, SB completes, Hero raises to $1.25, SB calls $1.
Flop: ($2.50) , , (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $1.5, SB raises to $6.25, Hero raises to $42.25
Hand 2: New to table no reads. Table is loose overall though.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)
UTG ($23.90)
MP ($15.15)
Button ($6.95)
Hero ($24.50)
BB ($18.65)
Preflop: Hero is SB with , .
1 fold, MP calls $0.25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.25, 1 fold, MP calls $1.
Flop: ($2.75) , , (2 players)
Hero bets $2.5, MP calls $2.50.
Turn: ($7.75) (2 players)
Hero bets $20.75 (All-In)
I understand that some people will say how terrible this is but if most are calling maximum bets of their stacks can't we value town them to the felt? |

| Up another buyin today over 680 hands. Includes AK>KK vs. like 40bb but also lost an allin to a gutter ball vs. 75bb. I may not be able to play much later tonight. Over last 2k hands I am up nearly 4 buyins running at 8.86BB/100. 18/12/2.4 stats...too nitty? |

Well if you want to disguise every post-flop leak you have running 18/12 isn't a bad way to go about doing it.
Or you could get better, run 20/18 and pwnasaurusRex 50nl next time you get up there. |

Am getting better. I used to run like 15/12 4 tabling. Now it's 18/13 (yeah small typo when I said 12 and I know doesn't help much) and I doubled the amount of tables. It's not all about the hourly winrate now is it? If I run less tables and play more post flop I'll make less. I still think my postflop is a lot better than it was. Is it safe to say your vpip should tighten a bit vs. short stacks? |

well just lost 2 buyins in 65 hands one was a coinflip of AA<KK with some pretty sick preflop action (almost had 2 more preflop allin callers). gg less tables
i need to study my hands a lot more. "bad beats only happen to good players". I like that quote but i'm still in a pretty shitty mood. i need sleep gnight ftr |

| Alright I played nitty mcnit fuck today and I am really pissed at myself. I think I tilted because I lost a lot more coinflips when my side was far heavier again. I really don't know how people move up when all this shit happens. I'm going to study HH a whole fucking lot for the rest of today and tomorrow or whatever before I try playing again. |

yeah, I've been thinking along these lines too - if I get in ahead 80% and behind 20% of the time, then I'll suck out a lot less frequently than I get bad beat. So it feels like I'm unlucky. But normally I'm not all-in as >3:1 favourite, so I'm going to feel a bunch of beats - and I guess that's fine. Don't like it though! |

Haha amen
Yesterday I thought a lot about poker, had a good talk with spenda and just tried to go over hands with pokerstove and ranges and all that shit. Went pretty well and I won't be able to play much if at all today so I have to think a lot more today as well. The Gauntlet keeps helping me out as I finished 3rd overall so I got a nice chunk of change (at least for me). I also get some FTR gear so that's a cool Bonus. Thanks Xianti and GMML! |

| Only able to play 300 hands since Christmas. Been polarizing my cbet ranges in this small sample, seemed to do pretty well. Very noticible to those who pay attention but they don't so yeah, I'm going to keep trying it. Anyways, went up nearly 2 buyins, played heads up as a table empty and got coolered then played some more 6-max and went back up to like 1.5 buyins overall. Not too bad. I hope this cbetting thing seems to work out pretty well because I suck at cbetting and it seems like it should be profitable due to how rough estimate my opponents hit, my cbetting size, and the times they hit but I hit harder. I don't know. Also been playing pretty well preflop as I used to just kind of go by guides but now I understand more on when and why to play certain hands. This is gay but oh well. |

| Long time no talk. Been on life tilt lately but oh well. Played in the Gauntlet TOC yesterday and was fortunate to take it down for $70 then played like 225 hands today. I feel really tired so I wasn't able to play much today. Ended up winning about a buyin in that small amount which includes me running hot then getting 2 outtered after the money goes in so I guess overall I kind of ran just a tad bit below expectation. I've decided I am going to play huge amounts of poker in the next 3 months and that means huge amounts of cash games. SnGs and other tournies will be put on hold unless something comes up. |

Thought this was a joke. I mean yeah I did well in the Gauntlet and have scored (quite a bit of my BR actually) in one table SnGs but I am determined to get good at cash. Maybe play a shitload of cash one day, then tournies another? Or like 2 days of cash and then tournies for one I don't know. To be honest I am scared of playing a lot of tournies and going on a huge cold streak. |

no worries man! But thanks for the compliment. I hope all your personal problems got better for you!
I may play SnG's/MTTs for a bit now but I really think I am getting better at cash. It's weird, I think cash games help my SnG/MTT game but am also seeing my cash game be better because of tournies. I *think* I display kind of a bad/looser image which really gets me paid off as I can adjust pretty well now. It's so amazing how bad a lot of tournament players are, ESPECIALLY postflop. And that does not mean any FTRers I have played, so don't think I'm better than you. |

| Played some cash today 8 tabling with a nice profit of 4 buyins. Stats looked like 18/15/3.5 which is less nittier than before when I tried multitabling. Got my HUD in a position where I can add more tables because it's much easier to read now (yeah I'm a robot). To top it off, I got my nice Bonus from the Gauntlet which for me is 3 buyins haha. So, yeah biggest profit day so far, +7 buyins. BR is slightly bigger than ever...feels good after some more life tiltage at least. |

| I played somewhat bad today and lost 2.5 buyins. Got suckout twice though so it would be a lot less. I just don't get why the poop the BR auto goes down when I get over $1100 |

Alright so I figured out I'd need about 15000 hands at 25NL this month to get silver status. It's definitely doable and was a plan of mine. However, I just got back my losses from today by playing a SnG. If I go all tournament mode I really doubt I'll get silver. I hate poker
Edit: Since I seem to write short entries I will try to edit a post if there is no comments on it. Here are 2 hands with me playing pretty lag on 2 tables. Both tables had really big fish so I tried to play as many hands as possible with them.
Hand 1: This was vs. an aware opponent in that he really tried to play with me a lot because I assume he thought I was just spewing chips. His stats don't matter really as I know vs. me he wanted every pot and called BS everytime I bet. I was running 37/28/2.7 at the time and had won 7 out of the last 10 pots. This is probably really standard as a tight player with so much FE but I didn't feel as if I had much.
PokerStars Game #14514720318: Hold'em No Limit ($0.10/$0.25) - 2008/01/12 - 20:16:20 (ET)

Seat 4: gonzo1983 ($42.50 in chips)
Seat 5: Blond Jon ($24.15 in chips)
Blond Jon: posts small blind $0.10
ticktack26: posts big blind $0.25

toddanderson: calls $2
*** TURN *** [3h Jc 5s] [4s]
Blond Jon: bets $5
toddanderson: raises $29.40 to $34.40 and is all-in
Hand 2: This player never raised pre, vpip of 21. I was running 22/19/7.7 so nothing too loose but maybe a little aggressive. Not sure if he was noticing that though. Anyways, I think by 3 barrelling I can fold out a lot of his 8x hands and also of course fold out some draws that are actually beating me. He's got to raise sometime here right if he has an 8 or something better?

Ok so after the great discussion on my hands I have come to the conclusion that hand 1 sucked in a majjjjjjjjjor way. I should never raise turn there. Raising a bluff makes no sense.
Anyways, been playing some 4.40 180man SnGs. Really really soft and everyone sucks. But they also suckout too sooooo no scores yet. |
