Read before posting:
First watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJ6NXRh9cCA. Alright so the first tournament had a good turn out, but unfortunately not everyone got a chance to play. This time around we won't start things off as quickly. Lets give this thread a week or so to reach everyone. If you're interested in signing up for the next heads up event, please reply with your name and the highest buy-in amount your bankroll can afford between these two options: $5 or $10.

I'll give you an example in case that's not clear:

Micro2Macro - $10

Basically just type it like that into your reply, and we can copy/paste all the names + amounts onto 2 different lists and get an idea of who will play for what. That way it's easy to organize.
We won't be announcing the size (16, 32, etc) or the buy-in amount ($5, $10) until everyone has signed up (however if there is enough interest for both amounts, we can run two levels for the tournament.

Thank you for your interest, and please sign up no later than Sunday, April 5th - FIRST COME FIRST SERVE

Tournament Structure:
-Play money HU 1/2 tables on Stars.
-200bb deep, no reload/auto-top feature obviously.
-Best of three matches. First person to lose their stack twice is knocked out.

K, Dranger and I discussed it and came up with this:
(We apologize for not posting this information out before we posted the brackets, we orginally had a 6-man payout planned but there were too many objections since it became confusing)

1/2/3/4

$160/$80/$40/$40

We think it's pretty fair, if there's any objections...you can organize the next tournament.

If this is one of those 200x, 3-table, no blind increases thing, I can't guarantee I won't spazz out after 2h or so, but I'll try to show good sportsmanship.

It's up to them imo. But they know how I spew, so I doubt many of them will put up much of a fight.

i have no problem with having stacks, spenda and other big timers play. although i would be a little irate if non-posting ftr's were playing

Luls.. It's HU.. Anything can happen HU.. Remember, pairs are hard to make, and that there are only 4 aces in a deck, and you'll be fine.

So, in other words, "PAIR!!!! ACE!!!! ARR IN!!!!"

Parasurama--$10

I played some HU cash the other day and was scared at how much I loved it. What's the recommended number of buy-ins to play HU cash, say at 100NL? My guess is around 40

that would be the bare minimum, something like 75-100 is probably best

Oh wow, thanks for the info, I underestimated the variance heavily, but maybe that's because the guy I was playing against kept buying in for 40BB and getting it in with any pair.

Wow great turnout so far for $10.

Anyone who isn't rolled for $10 don't be shy, Post for $5! I'm sure there will be at least 16 guys interested in a $5 game as well. We can organize two tournaments if there's enough interest, and if the $5 game is short a few people I'm sure a couple players will be happy to play both to fill spots.

Until we see how many players are interested we won't be deciding the number of players (16 or 32), however I think the structure will remain the same (Stars play money, no add-ons, best 2/3 etc).

I believe Dranger will be in charge of setting up the brackets, and Muzz thanks for volunteering for an escrow (and thanks for shipping me my billz).

Spenda: I don't see a problem with you playing, this tournament will be open to anyone.

Ok, me and micro are organizing this thing, so I'm just going to throw this out there:

Anyone who signs up can play. We are trying to make this a 32 man $10 BI tournament. The more that sign, the merrier. Regardless of what levels they play.

Bbickes, spends, stacks, whoever else, you're in. Good luck everyone!

I'm in, but I don't know what to bet on.
I was going to bet that I will make the most retarded bluff, but I think Stacks is a big favourite there.
I would lay 1.5:1 that I will suck out after getting it in with the least equity in a 100bb+ pot against anyone but Stacks.

But it will work.

And as far as the propbet, I'm unsure whether I'm down or not. Mainly because I'm pretty sure I'm not going to play this all that seriously (not that it would be a huge difference in my play). So it kinda doesn't make much sense to put $50 on the line when I'm like 90% sure I'm gonna spew my way out in the first round.

thus the prop to make sure you play seriously :eyeroll:

If I took on the prop, if it was significant enough, I'm sure I would play seriously. But I'm hesitant for a few reasons. (1) I'm not sure total competition is exactly what is expected in this tourney. (2) I may not play a lot of HU, but I'm not a "beginner" per se. Which leads to (3) This is a "beginner" HU tourney. I don't necessarily want to try my hardest to take the prize money when it would benefit some other member here more than me.

People don't learn as much when you softplay them. They don't want you to play because you're dead money they want you to play so they can hopefully learn something from you.
