Hi, I'm only just starting to try and learn Omaha so I played a little bit today since holdem was going a bit shit for me.
Anyway, the hand: I called preflop because I figure I have decent implied odds against the raiser with my double paired hand. Does the danger of facing a higher set make this a bad move? Also on the flop should I be trying to get AI or should I be more afraid of the overfull? How would you play AKxx in the same spot?

I think the first thing you should learn playing omaha is that underfulls/bottom-set suck so bad, it's why PF your hand is much weaker than it appears, because when you flop a hand you want to felt you will never be a big favorite.
As played I don't see how you cannot get all the money in, just try and hold against a lot of outs. |

Calling pre flop is fine. It's not a great hand but certainly good enough
This is just a tough decision. If stacks were deeper maybe fold. If you have a read on an opponent being particularly solid you can fold. In a vacuum, gambool. It's not impossible to be up against a flush draw and a 2345 or something.

Yeah it's pretty save to assume that they each have an ace and 5 or 6 cards to come between them both that beat us. Sure one of them *could* have AA or A5, given that we have 2 5's and there's 2 aces on board, this is somewhat unlikely.
I can't see folding given our odds. |

I think this hold true if you understand all of this:
