I specialize in NL FR but thought I might dabble in some heads-up since I start so many tables and figured developing an edge would help me long term. I wanted to start @ $25NL HU but it looks like on PokerStars the lowest stakes for HU are $50NL. Why is that? I guess I'll bumhunt or just take it slowly, but thought that was interesting.

It is easy to find an opponent on PStars $50NL HU who has bought in for 10, 20, 25 - so even though the blinds are bigger it is still the same roughly and the donks that do buy in for that amount are pretty much free money.

Absolute Poker has 2nl, 10nl, 25nl+ HU tables, so an option is to just take a couple hundred and move it over there to dabble with when you feel like it.

The rake is pretty hard to beat it I've heard. I've been wanting to play more heads up. Doing it through HUsngs at the moment.

HU SnG's are available at Full Tilt and Stars from $2 on up. I would not suggest playing $50 HU ss'd without at least 40 BI (more than I recommend for 6-max cash) because the variance can really suck. |
