I played a tournament last night at the local bar. It was fun. I had some huge success.
I sat down at the table and within 1 orbit, I took 4 people out.
Very first hand I was delt Q4s, I was in late position. It was limped around so I decided to get in on this.
Very raggy flop. Everyone checked to me and I threw out a stab. I got everyone but 1 person to fold. At the turn, she checked it to me and I threw in another stab. She layed down. I bluffed the 1st hand of the night. I was proud.
I proceeded to get TT, KK, QQ, AKs and won with every one of these hands.
On one hand, it was my deal and I looked at my cards and saw AA. I was kinda scared. I had gotten so many good cards that I was scared someone would question if I had cheated. I raised it pre flop and had 3 callers. (When I raised, 2 people said, "Of Course, he'll raise" I laughed) The flop came TT8 and I had a big raiser to me. I was scared, but called. The turn was an A. I looked at the betting and said, "I'll push you all-in." He quickly called and so did another girl. She flipped over a flush draw (stupid play) and he flipped over a AT and proudly said, "Full House" I sheepishly flipped over my Rockets and said, "Same thing, little better." I knocked them both out with one hand.
I knocked so many people out that they broke up my table. I Moved and then came my crappy cards.
I don't think I won another pot all night. I did place 12th out of about 60 people, but when I was so high, so early, I was optimistic that I would win.
I had about 10K with the blinds at 1k / 2k. I had 1 limper and everyone else folded. I had A7. I raised. the limper called. the flop came AJ3. He bet 2K, I raised all in (about 5K total) and he called. He had big slick and took me out with his kicker. I was pissed.
Overall, I was proud of my play. A few bad plays, a few great plays and some really lucky cards early. |
