SB had just been crippled in previous two hands, calling with the second best hand. Other than that he's not stood out. I haven't yet seen him put up much of a fight for his blind. BB won a big pot early and hasn't done anything major since. UTG seems as solid player for the level. He's folded the previous round or two.

Poker Stars, $1 + $0.20 NL Hold'em Tournament, 50/100 Blinds, 5 Players

UTG: 2,710
CO: 3,225
Hero (BTN): 1,045
SB: 705
BB: 3,775

Pre-Flop: (150) KClub QClub dealt to Hero (BTN)
UTG calls 100, CO folds, Hero ???

I'd just fold, I dont really expect UTG to fold if you push. This might be a push if UTG were really loose

Hard to say with those reads...

I probably fold and hope SB and UTG get AI. A limp for 100 chips from UTG from someone you describe as solid could be a warning sign. Could also be something like a PP which for some reason is only a limp but opps always call a push with also.

I hate a fold here. 5 handed KQs is as good as AKs. A solid player isn't limping a poopy ace UTG.

I think you raise and go to war.

AKs is ahead of more hands than KQs, to say they're the same is either silly, or making some assumptions about opps hand and then treating them like fact, which they're not.

Any above-average hand becomes stronger 5 handed vs 9 handed, but that doesn't mean you can treat them like the nuts. From what you can assume about UTG's limping range, KQs doesn't do so well. A better way to approach situations is (a)looking at the action in front of you and (b)how many are left to act.

I made the range a little liberal since this is a $1

I think I am pushing this one given your stack size.

There is no reason not to take the UTG at face value, a mediocare hand that want to see a cheap flop, hands like QJ, JT, J9 etc are all in his range IMO
