3 folds, Hero raises to t600, 3 folds, BB calls t400.
Flop: (t1175) 3, 8, 3 (2 players)
BB bets t600, Hero raises to t1430
I think my range is ahead of his. BB is 30/5 pre over 155 hands. The reason I post this is obviously mostly because of my push, giving him a 830 call into a 2375 pot. Basically I'm saying, if you are at least 35% sure you have me beat, call me. Also curious about any thoughts on sticking my neck out at this stage in the game at 100/200 with 8 players left and me being 3rd in chips. |

| I fold it preflop , the loose player in the bb is even more reason i would fold. I don't really go for steal attempts from MP , but i also play a way lower level so maybe thats the difference. |

I would fold preflop, with 10x BB I am looking for a spot to open push and this isn't one of them. I don't like stealing with four players still to act either.
As played, I'd just dump it - you've got 7x BB left and I doubt you have much FE against whatever opp is leading with |

| I should have been more clear. I'm not looking for advice, especially about preflop. I'm wondering what factors might make someone do a move like this. I can't really explain why I did this. I know ABC sng very well. It bothers me that I can't explain it but in my situation I really felt it was the right thing to do. I'll be the first to admit that I sound like a donk saying this, and the play looks like a donk too. |

Sorry, I should have guessed that you weren't looking for advice.
If I was to try to think about why you might have shoved over on the flop, I'd say it's because you realised that you made an error preflop, saw opp's flop lead (maybe he'd led the flop previously when he was first in?) and thought you might be able to push him off his hand. |

Maybe I'll try list out some things going through my head.
I knew BB was a loose preflop player, but a thinking laggy player. Pretty good understanding post flop - at least, better than me. I figured he was flat calling to test me because he had me out stacked and could pay to make me squirm. Range for the preflop call is pretty wide but doesn't include 3's or 8's. Therefore his open flop bet was likely a plan regardless of the flop. My range is still pretty tight. I push to rep the over pair, he folds because he knows his two overs are no good.
I feel like it pays off to get into risky situations if the table is relatively nitty, still 8-9 players left, and the blinds are already up to 100/200 at least. When it doesn't pay off, I bust in 8th or 7th when my ICM % was still low anyway. If it does pay off, I've just given myself a huge chip advantage against the regular nits. |

| I dont mind the play if your a little deeper, because at the moment your giving him like 4 to 1. which means that most of his leading range (small PPs, over cards) is going to call imo. |
