Yeah, he tanked half his time bank and folded. He claimed QQ.. Fwiw, I don't think he can call without trips or better.

I had 5s4s but my range is probably boat/trips/draw/KK+ (in that order).

I love hand reading exercises. here's my take:

From what I can tell from your previous posts, you will call there against the other big stack with either suited connectors or big PPs. I think your general play with other PPs or big A hands is to reraise and reevaluate... but you might call with those too especially since both of you are pretty deep stacked.

Your opp makes a standard c-bet on the flop. I put him on 55+ (maybe any pp depending on read), AJ+, QK - given that he raised from UTG. You call - again that doesnt say much - you could have a nice drawing hand (67, 78, 89, 9T, maybe even TJ), a huge hand (66, 88, TT, 79), a very good hand (JJ+), or air and are making a play.

The turn comes the Ts. He bets again. My read on him doesn't change much. He could make this bet with either a major hand (boat), an overpair, or two overcards.

You push, which to be honest really doesn't whittle your range down much (if your opp is decent he will be hard pressed to call with anything other than a boat or maybe KK+ so if you have him read as decent you can make this play with any of the hands I mentioned on the flop) - so you either have a boat, trips, a drawing hand, an overpair, or air.

call seems OK. You're getting 2/1, surely you have the best hand sometimes and if you don't you probably have the full 8 outs. It helps that you have a couple Js (and the spade J) so something really bad like QJ seems unlikely. Add in the fact that you're pretty short stacked if you fold here and it's even better.

Code:

Board: Ts 9d Qs 4c
Dead:

   equity    win    tie          pots won    pots tied
Hand 0:    33.977%     33.98%    00.00%               299            0.00   { JdJs }
Hand 1:    66.023%     66.02%    00.00%               581            0.00   { TT, AQs, As9s, Ks8s, QTs, T9s, T9o }

Ended a 26k downswing today with a few decent cashes. I'm not sure if it's just variance or maybe I actually lost some edge due to recent (P5's) exposure..

2007 so far:

the only way i could see a 26k downswing would be running real shitty if the first hour of the 100 & 200 rebuyaments.

Avg buyin is 156$, so that's about a 160 buyin downswing. That varies between 22 in a freeze out to 2600 in a 215r.

Interesting statistic: 65% of the prize winnings are generated by finishing in the top 3% of the field.

congrats on the great year johnny, i wish i could run the volume you do, to really compare myself to you and the other top online pros, I came across this the other day, its a online poker site that does writeups on some top online players, i think they would like to do an interview/learn more about you as you were their featured player a few days ago. After the wsop i may try to go full time before the ept's start. any chance you will be playing in any wsop or ept events this year?

I'll probably play a few EPT's (depending on sponsorship). I won't play the wsop though.

sorry johnny thought i posted the link here it is
http://www.pokerverdict.com/Poker-Players-Club/487/player_focus_who_is_busto_soon.html

yeah im lookin for some sponsorship for the ept's as well, hopefully i have good showing at wsop and can work something out, currently ranked, 10th in canada in the ipr,international poker rankings right behind Brad Booth, and behind Gavin Smith, negreanu, Nenad Medic, among a few others, gonna be tough to pass any of them but top 5 is possible. also 9th in the world in itm finishes in 2007, and thats without playing any events over 5k and no calfornia events. i mean if Lynette Chan can get sposorship from Full Tilt Poker sure as hell i can get hooked up with some site out there. I'm sure your online status alone should open some doors for you, i actually heard bodogari and a few other top pro's are getting sponsored for live tournaments by cardrunners, im sure if you keep killing it, some deals will open up.
