Being a little nub, i'm focusing on £1.20 (stop laughing) SnGs atm. I have reacenty started consistenly winning (or coming second, and HU its pretty much a crapshoot if the blinds are big enough and your both agressive, right?) and am waiting to build my BR to move up.

In the evenings to mix it up a little, I play in the £1.15 mulit tables on Will Hill after midnight. 70-120 players normaly sign up for them. I know the stake means your going to see alot of random stuff going on but there is one hand i have a problem with.

JJ early on when the blinds are tiny.

4x BB raise gets called by everyone at the table, and any A Q or K can hit easily. Logic tells me that either i need to bet alot more to keep the single high cards out, or limp cheap and hope to see my jack or no overcards.

How should i play this hand when no one has raised so far from middle position?

Early, Im trying to hit a set or overpair. At those blind levels it isnt really profitable to throw out a huge bet and everyoen folds. In MP if its folded to me ill throw out a 3xbb raise to get the crap out. If its raised ill just call and hope to hit a set/overpair.

playing for set early is fine, especially if people are stacking off with TP.

Playing for set value is fine, but I would tend to open raise with JJ. Depending upon the players, I am usually calling after limpers early in a tourney.

Here, it is a good idea to just flat-call it. While it's a good hand pre-flop, you either have to bet 3x big blind, with a lot of callers. Or, you have to bet 5x or 6x, to get everyone to fold, which isn't guaranteed.
Only raise woth AA,KK,QQ and A-K, and flat call A-Q suited, J-J, and A-J.
Don't be afraid to let go of the flat-calling hands if the action gets large, if it is early in the tournament, you can wait around for the blinds to get larger.

Consider (open)pushing preflop.
