Welcome to Jack's Bar
This won't be an "operation thread" as much as it is just a corner in the interwebs where you can chill out, grab a drink, tell jokes, look at the chicks, complain about the weather, do horseplay, and whatever else you please.
As some of you know, I already have had other operation threads, such as where I got to know gambling in general and where I further developed my game. Both of these operations have been, at least from my perspective, complete successes.
Now, some interesting plot twist had to happen towards the end of my second operation, which explains what happened to my roll. I'm supposed to get most of it back, but until then, I only have about $50 to fiddle with online. This (the getting my monies back) is taking much longer than it was supposed to. And therefore I've been postponing my "return" to the online poker scene for months, since, well... But last week I decided it was time to man up and start playing. Swallow that fucking pride and get grinding again at fucking microstakes. Pwn if I can. If I get some or all of my roll back fine. If I don't, fine too.
The reason I decided to do this was twofold: "sitting out" is not good, in that your sharpness will decline if you suddenly stop playing, and specifically for long periods of time. You'll "forget" how to play, and when you start playing again thinking you are the shit, you'll be shit literally.
The other reason is that I intend to be in this for the longterm. Therefore, I HAVE to get accustomed to grinding. I'm gonna do at least some hands every day.
I don't really have a "goal", but rather, a general direction which is pretty fluid. Its the 3rd time I grinded up from microstakes, so I'll be fine. I only feel like Sisyphus, but oh well. There's a reason for everything that happens.
I'll be playing all variations of poker, in MTTs, STTs and cash games.
GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO
And don't forget to pour yourselves a drink! You're in my bar, dammit!

I know, I know, I foresighted this. I have some extra money on a credit card incase this roll evaporates, but I hope I don't have to use it. I'm also due for some PS Bonus, I need about 1o0 or so FPPs, and it will triple my roll
Thing is, 100 FPPs is quite a pain at micro-microstakes, but I hope I'll be there by this weekend
So, no worries, I'll be fine, and it will be an invigorating experience
Bad news, the tap is broken atm
But I do have some fine imported Belgian beer, icecold
Here you go

I'll be having me another Pravda Martini, shaken, not stirred
I'm such a sucker for vodka
So, I decided to go pwn some sng's today, and just today stars decides to crap the sngs. No new ones will be generated until tomorrow 7AM ET. wtf
Thus I decided to use my time well, and am trying to finish Barry Greenstein's book. That book is genius.
The beautiful thing is that it doesn't try to tell you to play this way or that way. It simply recaps as to what to expect of the Degen's lifestyle, and prepares you for it. I'm loving it.
Also, happy valentine mofos! I hope you passed it well. As for me, I ain't got time for chicas this time around.

I can't serve you all these, you may get too drunk and keep the bouncers busy
But I'll server you some Scotch
And pour myself some too
Cause I need it. Tonight I went over to a friend's house and we played some live poker, $10 SNG style w/rebuys, winner takes all.
I rebought about 4 times, I've been subject to the most outrageous beats.
Live poker has to be rigged. Fuck it. |

Let me hit up sime energy shake, kinda like xtr's
Needed that. I discovered today, that me being a SNG donk, am no good in big MTTs. Sure, I FTd quite a few 180's, but these do not qualify as big MTTs. MTTs are very different from SNGs, and I didn't really know this.
My SNG lineage, however, pays off once I hit the FT. That is why I've never placed worse than 3rd on any of the (admittedly few) FTs I've been to.
Also, this weeks Poker After Dark is especially good, as in good. It has Gold, Ferguson, Chan, Jonston, Hellmuth and Seed.
Huck Seed started particularly well, but then...

dude yo, a bar!!! nice one!
someone already asked about coffee.
I recently created a new policy on drinking - when someone suggests a long island iced tea and my answer is "why not?" i will remember that this isn't rhetoric and that there are probably very good reasons why not...
Right now i'm feeling like a nice pisco sour (egg white and all), maybe a vodka to chase, and debating between machiato (doppio) and simple espresso for my coffee sift.
anyway, cool that you're back grinding. Hope the money gets returned too - we still haven't had the chance to smach each other's rolls.
good luck! kick it yo... |

I feel like ballin'. I don't *have* the liquidity yet, but I just applied for a Swiss bank account. I applied for it in the motherfucking Zurich branch.
In Euro.
It truly is amazing what you can do via the internet these days.
Now, my Neteller is already in Euro. I'll ship their maestro cards over, and I'll be able to withdraw on my local ATMs, for a modicum of a fee. I can even get a fucking MasterCard Gold if I want to (ATTENTION: FUCK CREDIT CARDS! GET DEBIT CARDS INSTEAD). I'll be a proper balla once I get the cash money to put in them accounts.
So why am I this excited? Well, if you have Euro's around here you get the purchasing power equivalent to an H-bomb explosion. With electromagnetic pulse included.
I also opened some poker accounts on several networks, properly equipped with RB. I have been lax in the past, and seen RB opportunities vanish quicker than candy in the hands of a fat kid. Like Purple Lounge and Chili Poker, I postponed making accounts at these sites, and I heard they withdrew their RB offers from the 'net. But now, I've literally made use of every RB opportunity on different networks I could get my hands on, without having to deposit. To this day I regret not having gotten RB at UB, but I'll not play cash there anyway, so I can't care less. And their Bonus system sucks big time. But I love their software.
60 more FPPs to go an I'll be at the magical $200 mark. Woohoo!
But I actually haven't played yesterday or today. I'll log some hands in tomorrow by lunch break or so, and again in the afternoon.
One can feel the feelin', right? |

That's what I'm talking about.
True drinktards know that Vodka is the only drink you should have.
You can get soooo drunk, yet no one will ever be able to find out by sniffing your breath.
Here you go, connoisseur
Update on the account: so, I they called me up. And then I mentioned the magic words, "Internet" and "Gambling". Needless, to say, they told me to take a hike. Fuck Credit Suisse. |

Nope, I didn't sign up, that's the problem.
And now, iPoker RB has gotten scarce. Also, Purple Lounge won't take RB signups anymore.
I only used to play on UB, Party and PokerStars.
Also, LOL, I found out about poker post-UGIEA so I wasn't there during the golden age |

| How about grabbing me another beer and then stopping for a min to talk about good sites to deposit at for Rakeback + deposit bonuses? I'm about done clearing my PokerStars reload Bonus, and looking into my options for moving elsewhere. FullTilt seems an option with $600 deposit Bonus and Rakeback, but not sure how well it clears. Other than that, its all a bit overwhelming trying to sort out other options from each other. Mainly looking to play 25NL and up shorthanded and/or full ring, but will probably keep my hand in at STTs. Obviously being non-American I have some more options than you, but you've spent more time than I have looking at this stuff. Probably looking at depositing around $800-$1k. |

I'm gonna start focusing a lot on BvB play. This is currently my biggest leak.
There are more, but this one I consider my biggest one.
Also, beginning today, i'll try to play at least 5 FR sng's daily, 6 days a week. This done to maintain rythm. Lets see how that goes |

The minraise seems to be the most decisive tell in small stakes NL and PL poker.
I have yet to see one opportunity in which the villain minraised me at any point postflop and showed a hand that I was actually beating. 1 time.
additional changes to my work ethic: I will only analyze my play once a week, preferably on a tuesday or wednesday. |

Preview of my next avatar candidate + Random babe to spice my thread up
I think she has a very sexy look
I'll be having me a Grey Goose
It truly is amazing how short a day is. This is specially apparent when you do lots of thins. I want to start a petition to increase days to 48 hours instead of 24. Maybe I'd have some luck doing that ? |
