I'm feeling the grind for the first time in weeks. Lets see where I reach this time. I'm grinding the 6.50's after taking close to 3K out of my roll to pay for unnecessary shit I shouldn't have to pay for. Heh, that's life.
I was superrolled for the 6's, and now I'm adequately rolled for the 6.50's. But no matter, I'll try to reach my eventual goal of 5.5K this time.
My goal is modest. With a 5.5K roll, I could grind the 27's for a good living on my pirate island. I could do higher, but I feel that higher the only thing I will get are nitfests that run only half the day, and I hate that.
I got about $500 on stars right now, after having today withdrawn $300. Let's see how the road to 5K will pan out, and how it all unfolds.
I lost all my hand histories ever, since I made some idiot backup decision in 7 that actually overwrote my old Vista OS backup, but its all good, since I did not really use Prospector or Tourney Manager that much anyway. I only used it to see session data, such as the amount of games I have played during a session. Results on sessions would make me results oriented, and its totally normal that I would finish a session -20BI or +20Bi. Grinding SNGs is a madhouse lol.
Oh, and I'm officially reopening my bar if and/or after I reach Goldstar this month. |

Its pretty good, but we have to like kill all politicians here and then it would be perfect! They are all selfish, corrupt bastards imo.
There is also a huge influx of foreigners coming to live here currently for some reason. |

I've actually had a couple of these and they are pretty delicious. My girlfriend is from Brazil and if I understand right that is huge down there and may even have come from down there. I actually had one with alcohol made by University of Sao Paulo because her dads friend has some sort of connection but it isn't for sale to the public. First time I've ever actually seen the drink anywhere other than with her family. Pretty cool. |

Yeah, its Brazil's national cocktail. The remarkable thing is that there are literally millions of variations on this particular drink. But all share the cachaça rum and tons of sugar as main ingredients.
Its pretty much the nuts yo. I have seen it once at a bar I was at, and then I saw it on an episode of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, in which they went on the story etc. And then I tried it, and got hooked lol |

200 VPP away from silverstar, haven't grinded in the past week or so. Lets see if I can make it between todat and tomorrow. That's about 70 SNg's at the 6,50 level.
gogogogogo
edit: meh, I had some cheap rum yesterday with mango juice, and today i got such an awful diarrhea its uncanny. I guess I can't drink cheap alcohol anymore (except green rum which is cheap but I haven't had issues with it), because I also once drank white label in massive quantities and shat green the next day. |

1) Bananas, cut in blocks
2) Ice
3) Nestle's Homemade Vanilla Low Fat and No Sugar Added Ice cream
4) Some Bacardi 8
5) extra creamy milk Carnation or Frisian Fag
All of these to taste obv. The Bacardi should be no more than 2 or 3 shots, we are not looking to make this alcoholic rather just to give it flavor. You can also use the rum of your choice.
Experiment with the amounts but don't overdo it. We are looking for your own taste.
Throw all of these in a blender, and press pulse a few times, just enough to have no big pieces of ice left in the drink.
You can also garnish with some sprinkles of Cinnamon.
Note, you should not add any sugar, or honey, or splenda or equal to any of this. Its all naturally sweet.
You can also substitute the bananas with Sapodilla or some Mamey Sapote, and you will have a variation of the great taste.
Serve immediately.

Monday, June 1st
A new month begins on a Monday. This month happens to be halfway of the current year in which I have seen so many ups and downs, in all aspects of my life.
Seems like a fitting date to reopen the bar.
First up, poker. I have been crushing the games I play in since January or so, maybe even more. But I always had to move some money out of the sites to do shit with it, sometimes necessary and at other times not so necessary. The end result was that I got my money to a fairly large sum on the PokerStars, as I had about 150 BI for the 16s and was about to jump to the 27's near end of February to mid-March. Needless to say, I again had to move money out of the site, this time leaving me behind with like a measly $500.
The little I had left, I grinded for some time with it, but quickly decided against it. I had halved my $500 roll to just $250, "running bad". At one point, it seemed I was unable to win in significant pots while being ahead.
I was crushed, so decided to lay the smackdown on poker. Roll going down that much and installing of Win7 made me put poker on the slow heat, let it sit there for awhile while I think about my next move. I have not touched the grind seriously until about the beginning of May. I only decided to grind again upon seeing some people visiting my bar, even though I had not updated in a few months.
I had a little motivation again, and decided to do some grindage. Put goals for myself, which were try to reach any VIP Level that was not bronzestar. I started May again in full speed.
But again, midway through May, I was running like Absolute dogshit. I have not been able to put together wining days playing the same games I so soundly crushed just two months prior. I started seeing monsters under the bed. Stars was out to get me. Whenever I had a pair, someone had a better pair and I gave him or her full action. Whenever I had Ax, someone had Ax+ and again I gave him full action. Get it in good, lose. get it in bad, lose. It started to get on my nerves.
At some point, I deposited some money to get my roll back to around $500 and see if its psychological reasons behind my losing. But it continued. Break-even session after losing session after break-even session.
Had I lost it? what the poop is wrong with me? Why do I lose so much, and how is it so that people seem so lucky vs me in allins?
It turns out, that somewhere along my now short hiatus from poker, I went into complacency mode. I was not competitive anymire. I couldn't give a damn. I thought "hey, I achieved silverstar 4-tabling, I'm on the top of the world! Maybe I should try for goldstar, ... meh, later". And I forgot how to play.
I was getting beat, sure, but showdown poker is idiot's poker and I have stated this a long time ago in my other blogs too. I just forgot it. I forgot the fundamentals, the core gameplay that makes a player to be able to win at least in my case.
I have tried and tried to get back in the zone, but to no avail. I have dropped a ton of buyins since I started to play again this month. I ceased to win.
But then, it happened. Somewhat. I have won a few games again. I have started to see things like I saw them before. And this is good.
In some other post, I will cover life.
Basically, it means, JUNE HERE WE COME.
TL;DR
THE EPIC RESIDENT COSMOPOLITAN ICONOCLAST BARMAN IS BACK. |

The great quote currently in my sig will help you with that. Ponder on this for a bit.
| Quote: | | But do you know what people really want? They want what they’ve got. It’s a simple formula: You have what you want because your actions produced your results. Not your words and certainly not your wants. |
What hand minraises then 3-barrels this board?

Dilemma's.
A friend just called me up to ask what I thought about 3 weeks in Colombia by the end of July. He is very busy, but another friend of ours (whom he kept better contact with than I did) is getting married and invited him over for his marriage in Portugal. My friend would then tell his people he went out to Portugal, but instead, we would go to Colombia obv. For 3 weeks.
Colombia, as I have mentioned various times before, is chock-full of the most stunning babes you will ever see. I obviously want to go there as much as a fat kid wants to go to a candy store. As much as George Foreman wants to grill. But a few problems came up with this suggestion:
a) I'd probably need an estimate of at least $2K for the trip, taking into account a cheap $30 hotel and spending money.
b) I have been going out quite a lot lately with a ladyfriend who is in town and who is, incidentally, from Colombia. I always pay for the girl whenever we go out.
c) I was planning to buy one of those petite laptops, and I really need it for future plans I have. With the accessories, like a tote and a sleeve, its probably about $1.25K pre-shipping. If I'm going to Colombia, I'd need it.
d) I was also planning to go on a cruise with a whole group of friends. The cruise takes place in November, but I would need to pay it off mid-August. That's about 1.5K. And if I go on the cruise, I'd need the laptop too, but its a bit far away so its a non-issue right now.
So, unless I start regularly getting in $200 days, Its not gonna happen within such a short timespan. Something's gotta give. The question is: What?
Edit: and then I see my sig.

Money is just paper, go for it.
I missed out on the Vegas trip this year and realize I shouldn't have. I've got enough money, and can make more. The 1k I would have spent in Vegas (if not more) would have taken a dent into what we have saved, but I realize now I could have made it.
To make up for it I'm going to Vegas August 1st-3rd, then Jamaica the 4th-10th (the Jamaica trip was already planned). Freaking just go for it or three months from now you'll be saying, "damn, I should have done that." |

I see you brought three, counting you and UG there´s one left for me, right?
Only thing I can say is: Make dat mobniez and travel as much as you can and spend as much time with your friends as you can.
I could have finished my studies almost a year ago, had I spent more time with reading and writing and less time with freinds, adrenalin, girls and booze. I confessed to my dad, that my degree is gonna take some more time, cuz Im a lazy fuck and he was like:" Well, better live your life now, instead of leaving kids and wife behind in some midlife crisis later on" |

In my opinion, the Vodka is always for the short skirted chick, even if she's on a star trek glass.
On a somewhat different topic, this pic makes me think that I should have more mixers at the home bar. Maybe I should have mojito mix or something. Tips from the playa/bartender?
edit:wars becomes trek... I blame the crown royal. Next stop: glen livet 21yr. |
