| Is this really the key topic for everyone on this forum right now. Grinding up from micros. I am glad everyone is trying to pull a ferguson and Martin Kl...... whatever that other guy's name is (went from freeroll to bracelet in 6 mths) but seriously, if this is all people are going to talk about maybe we should have a seperate forum section. I am now going to wish you luck also and hope that we all can do what ferguson did and turn a freeroll into thousands of dollars. Hopefully everyone from FTR is sitting at the world series this year at one final table or another. GL on the felt and see you there. |

Christmas of '06 I did not know that a flush beats a straight. In fact, I was not entirely sure what a flush was.
'08 was a rebuildaments year for me. For most of the year, I was like Voldemort in HP1 bankroll-wise. It was not until July that I could resume grinding from where I left off the year before.
A combination of real life bad beats, metaphorical 1-outers and running perfect cards and drawing-dead-aments on flop, almost had the best of me. But I gritted my teeth, and continued.
Yet out of the ashes, anew the phoenix emerges. Stronger, more powerful, wiser. More resistant.

I also have a few goals and I'm listing these here purely as guide and not as anything set in stone since if I do that my goals never seem to realize.
These would include:
1) new laptop
2) new design pc
2b) new monitors, in some sort of Hydra setup
3) new chair (FUCK HERMAN MILLER AND HIS PRICY CRAP) and shit. get my office in proper working order.
4) finally read that Stephen Covey book I have lying around on my desk. |

So, Christmas behind us etc. Now time for resolutions, onward to 2009.
I will try to make a run for Nova. At my current playing volume, I would be able to make nova at the 20+2's in under 8 months, which would be by august. I will keep on average 200BI, 225BI MAX online at all times, very strict BRM. Hopefully somewhere alng the way I will amas about 250K FPPS for the $4K Bonus, 26K FPPS for an ipod, and 10K for an el cheapo Poker Chipset.
I will also try to eat well daily, and get up and excersice and run and so some yoga or whatever every day. I will try to keep late night runs (the figurative kind) at a minimal.
Well, that's it. Only making plans with things I can control (such as amount of VPPs earned). Poker-related updates in this blog will be purposefully slow and minimal because of my approach. My bar will remain open though. Free as always, anyone can serve and get served whatever they would want to feel good & comfortable, if at least for 1 second.
I need to make a few upgrades to my office environment but I will keep those on the pending list. |

I need something strong
I can't remember having run this bad over any length of time. The past 2 sessions have been brutal. I have probably dropped more than 40 buyins at my current stakes. Good thing I have a very large bankroll, else I would have been busto a long time ago.
I'm afraid to look at my ROI which was well north of 25% the last few months, it must have dropped now to like single digits.
I even started wondering how many times AA and KK go around the table when shorthanded. It seems like every second hand a different donk gets them at every single fucking table wtf it seems like HU those are the only two fucking hands villains get goddamnit
but instead of stopping I'm gonna give variance a big poop you and play the fuck on. Fuck this shit, its just impossible. I can't keep running like dogshit forever. At some point my fucking hands are gonna hold up, and people will not wake up with big unfoldables every time i decide to make a move.
