Hit me up!
I need some inspiration quick. I haven't played many hands at all this week or the week before.
So, I'm going to put up some goals, for the first time in months:
Ready?
$500 for a Metal Gear Solid edition PS3
$400 for a fucking comfortable chair.
That's it. Lets see how fast I can get this money in. o/u set at 13 days.
Now, since I'm planning to get a PS3, I need some sort of HiDEF TV set too.
But that will be for another race.
Why the PS3 first? Its a special edition that plays any playstation game ever made up until PS3, and may run out of production very soon.
GOGOGOGOGOGO! Lets see how many ways I can botch up this one! |

nice. seems like you've stumbled upon the specialty of the house.
its called a Flügel. don't let the diminutive size fool ya, these are guaranteed to fuck ya up!
I'm not on pace for $900 in under 9 days now, but I'm up about $250 despite only grinding approx 3 sessions. i made it a priority to only grind "when I feel like it", and so far I have had great results, just not very time-bound.
My next updates will be slow. |

I just came from a basketball session lasting 3 hours, so im dog-tired, but I still feel good about putting in a quick 1-hr sesh of NL.
I realized a few more things:
I matured greatly. Bad beats are now more of a "meh" than an "OMFG"
I control my emotions much much better, except for my racing heart in tense situations. Its not that I don't "show" discomfort, its that I am not uncomfortable at all.
I keep thinking clearly most of the time, and when I go on momentary mental lapses, I kinda see them coming and prepare accordingly.
I am more of a "feel guy" than a "math guy"
$4 tourneys with 180 participants are not worth my time anymore. I have to play at the very least the $11-180's, the $20-180's, or the $9.90-360's. I need to keep my tourney skills somewhat sharp, as they have a much bigger part in my plan than I anticipated.
That said, I love cash sooo much more than I love tourneys.
And no Bjsaust, I have not forgotten about our bet. I hope you didn't, either
Holy shit, the shift key is so goddamn obnoxious |

Hey Jack, I feel the same way about tiliting. If I get reamed 3 or 4 times in a short period I feel tilty, but I return to normal much more quickly than I used to.
BTW, I'm pretty much a widower this month cuz it's year end for the wife at work, and she works late most nights every Sept. Therefore I'm not getting lucky. Hit me with something to numb me enough not to think about that....... |

I think I got the perfect thing, cardsman
looks like we got to get the green fairy involved
I'm only posting this hand, to remind myself some of my own previously rediscovered mantras
-don't go for broke in unraised pots (unless, of course, you got the nuts)
-FUKCING RAISE PREFLOP!
PokerStars (Tournament): $10 + $1, 9 players
Sat Sep 06 21:54:28 VET 2008
(Format: BBCode)
Hero ($3,990)
SB ($6,590)
BB ($5,415)
B6 ($4,425)
B5 ($12,885)
B4 ($2,595)
B3 ($2,750)
B2 ($3,580)
B1 ($6,855)
Hero is the button.
Precards:
SB posts the small blind $25, BB posts the big blind $50.
Preflop: Hero is dealt (9 active)
2 folds, B4 calls $50, B3 folds, B2 calls $50, B1 folds, Hero calls $50, SB calls $25, BB checks.
Flop: ($250, 5 active)
SB checks, BB checks, B4 checks, B2 checks, Hero bets $150, SB calls $150, 3 folds.
Turn: ($550, 2 active)
SB bets $300, Hero raises to $900, SB calls $600.
River: ($2,350, 2 active)
SB bets $1,200, Hero raises to $2,890 (all-in), SB calls $1,690.
Final Pot: $8,130
Hero, net: -$3,990, Lost at showdown, has 7 A (Two Pair, Aces and Sevens)
SB, net: $4,140, Won at showdown, has 2 3 (a Five High Straight)
B2, net: -$50, Folded Flop
B4, net: -$50, Folded Flop
BB, net: -$50, Folded Flop
amny things are wrong here:
i'm the button, and I don't raise preflop
i only raised turn +600, so if he had a flush draw (since he would think that I would not raise if I had my own FD), he'd have to call 600 to win (600+300+550) 1450, plus implied odds if he hit that offsuit straight out.
so basically, I played like shit, and i have to make sure this mistake never repeats up again. |

poop you lee jones, my ass hurts

Button ($10.20)
SB ($168.10)
Hero (BB) ($25)
UTG ($22.75)
MP ($25)
CO ($34.30)
Preflop: Hero is BB with ,
3 folds, Button calls $0.25, SB calls $0.15, Hero raises to $1.25, Button calls $1, SB calls $1
Flop: ($3.75) , , (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3, Button calls $3, SB calls $3
Turn: ($12.75) (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $5.75, Button calls $5.75, SB calls $5.75
River: ($30) (3 players)
SB bets $16.25, Hero folds, Button calls $0.20 (All-In)
Total pot: $30.40 | Rake: $1.45
Results in white below:
Button had 8 , A (straight, eight high).
SB had 6 , 7 (two pair, sevens and sixes).
Outcome: Button won $28.95
down like 8 buyins over the weekend, so now only up like 4 since the start of the ps3 thingy
god i hate this shit
in another perspective, this happened after I A) played > 4 tables, and B) started playing noticeably tighter. hmmm...
most probably i simply cannot play TAG, or misplay draws (since none ever hit), or someone jinxed me |

yes, button had 5.95 left, he called instead. i exected him to reopen the betting though, and then i'd push over the big stack.
after getting raped all day, you really do start seeing monsters under the bed, except these monsters are very real and specially when you play for stacks.
it seemed like everybody would hit every single out they had yesterday and the day before everytime. the effect of these bad beats seem to compound, with every one "feeling" harder than the next. right after you double up, and keep playing, then BOOM two-outered again now for 200 big bets.
and when you are running bad, no better way to celebrate than bubbling a 4,40 180, in motherfucking 19th place.
and after that, to rub salt in my wounds, Q3 > T5 in a limped pot on a QT55 board for a buyin at Ongame's 20NL, and I decided this shit is impossible and I should quit like for life.
| daven wrote: | >4 tables and tight? aren't you the king of reads and lines and loose though?

this is true. i was trying to experiment and understand how people would run with VPIPs like in the 15s~20s. it seems like a very bad idea, its boring and they outdraw you worse.
it seems like i'm made to be a laggtard, and it should be high variance. but when everyone hits every single draw and every single out and everything goes against you all night all day like that, it truly ain't fun.
so, i'm done with this tightening up and play more tables bullshit. fuck vpps, fuck Rakeback, fuck bonuses. i'm reverting to old me yet again. play few tables, play many hands, never play tired, and read their souls.
also, i'll be on a "bankit" strategy for now.
i will take a short break to cool down. i will take some money out of my PS account, just to resist the urge to move up to chase losses. just let it sit there on moneybookers, or withdraw it and spend it all on bitches and booze. |

| he cant re-open the betting if his shove is less than a minraise, all you can do is just call at that point, if you want him to re-open the betting you'd bet like $2.95 |

here, i'm breaking out the finest shit
Also
I WILL NOT POST BAD BEATS
I WILL NOT POST BAD BEATS
I WILL NOT POST BAD BEATS
I WILL NOT POST BAD BEATS
There. that felt better.
I went into heavy PES mode, trying to get my head straight.
I did play a few games today for the first time in a long tim (not helped by the fact that electricity went out seconds after I had registered for 4 SNG's), but before that, I got stacked in a SNG in the strangest way. I will find that HH later today (I also did a some OS reinstalling recently) to post. What bothered me was not that my aces got cracked. What bothered me was that the river PSB for full stack went in after I was drawing dead. At least he tanked before calling me down with T4s on TJ25T board.
The money went in bad. |

Nice!
I also found some great music to grind to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjOQ9r35uiU&feature=related
\\I have also been trying to learn how to make electronic music. I got software and everything, I only need like a keyboard and shit.
of course, my genres would likely be lo-fi, lounge, chillout etc.
making stuff like this (Jens Gad - Northern Horizon)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyxvqR2eSbw
its a distant project of mine, hopefully not too distant [I want to make this type of music and write novels and shit] |

I ask you for forgiveness, dear poker gods, for having put up monetary goals.
I will not do it again.
now can I return to form? I already paid my positive variance for having flopped a royal flush earlier with 297973180884810 KK vs AA pf ai losses, not to mention constantly get river-3-outered or stacks. please let me run at least a little less bad.
Thank You. |
