Inherited $20 on Stars

A friend of mine recently cashed out of Stars and he was nice enough to leave me $20 dollars because I had told him I wanted to make a foray into the world of online. I am not a stranger to Poker, I have played a lot of live games with various people in my home town and at college. The highest stakes game I've played was $1-2 and around 50 dollar tournaments weekly. These games have always been more of a hobby and just for fun. Just a thing to do on Mondays with some extra money from work.

Anyway, my goal is to build a bankroll out the money left on his account. I know that $20 dollars is not enough of a bank roll for 5NL but I am willing to add more if bust. My question is however, what is the better version to learn as a online beginner, 6Max or Full Ring? And what are the major differences between online and live?

I played around a little tonight and thought I would post a hand from my session so here it is:

I'm not sure if I had the right read here. I am fairly certain he did make his fush, but I thought Id post it. Feel free to rip apart my play.

a flush is easily in his range, especially when he check-calls the flop and turn

and that ace isnt a very good card either. your fold is good here

edit: did you change the HH? i couldve sworn it said KK last night

Start with the Beginners Digest...Read and learn everything, especially BR management, and practice it(sounds like you should start at 2NL, and youre underrolled).
About your question, I would say( and I dont have a lot of experience, so you can wait for advice from better players here) full ring is better to start, since you will be playing less hands and with good preflop play you will be OK. If you like it more, you can then go to 6max when you feel comfortable playing more hands and develop good postflop play. I know some will say play whatever game you like more, but this was just my opinion.

About my roll, I have money available to add to my account if I would bust, but I think I am going to play 2NL for now to try and learn the game. Right now, its not about making a lot of money for me its about learning the skills to make cash later on.

Another question I have is about multitabling. I only have a 13 inch laptop at the moment so I am kind of limited. I feel like I can comfortably play 2 6max games and 4 full ring games. Should I be able to do more than this, or less than this? Im good at doing math quickly in my head and I hate being bored, although I feel like I make a lot of my money at cards from exploiting individual players and I feel like I don't pay attention to little details enough with a lot of tables.

you should play at the number of tables you're comfortable at
it's like the worst feeling ever when you fold a set or AA because you weren't paying attention
