SO I started out yesterday with a $600 bankroll, by this afternoon I had to redeposit $500. SO This is going to be where I keep track of my progress, share hands, etc, etc.

My only goal is to become a winning player. I am going to play three 3 hour sessions each day, in place of going to the casino and staying hours on end.

Some hands from just a little while ago, where I reached my stop loss...

Hand One

UTG raises, MP calls, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero calls

River: (18.2 BB) 3 (4 players)
Hero bets, MP calls, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, CO caps, Hero calls

Total pot: $13.60 (27.2 BB) | Rake: $0.50

Results in white below:
Hero had 3, 9 (full house, threes over nines).
CO had 4, 4 (full house, fours over threes).
Outcome: CO won $13.10

Hand Two

Hero raises, 1 fold, SB calls, 1 fold

Total pot: $1.25 (2.5 BB) | Rake: $0.05

Hand Three

Ok, so in hand one I was actually at a loss for what to do pre-flop. I don't like to call the second bet in this spot, but feel like it's wrong not to. THen the flop comes down, I am sure that given the preflop action that I am ahead, thus the three bet (if it gets 3bet by middle position I would have 4bet). Now after getting the flop called by two I was concerned that I might not have been as far ahead as I thought. The four on the turn made me think about whether or not anyone could be ahead then, but I did not think so, so bet it thru. On the river I fill up, but actually tank, wondering if there is a set of sevens or fours. I mean i thought down to almost being sat out, but called. Thoughts on hand one????

Hand two I am in a situation where I always raise it up, usually 4betting if given the chance (like 75%). The flop is something that I always am thinking about. I have second pair top kicker. I think that I am supposed to bet it every time on boards of this texture. I don't think that many of ops hands hitthis better than mine, and on the off chance they have an eight then I still have two streets to hit preferably another 4, or an ace. What line do you all take here?

Hand three is what I consider to be a standard play. I hit the flop, do not think that opponent did, but still after the call I wonder whether I need to be betting for value with hands like this (no kicker, kicker can fill SD if comes), or checking then calling down.

So the last session yesterday went well. I said earlier that I won 114 BB, but it was actually 125.7 (I sent someone $5, and didn't count $.85). I reviewed most all of my hands in poker track last night too. Got an idea of what hands I am going to look to take out of my range, found the weakest players that regularly are on my tables, also found a few leaks. Will be working on plugging, as well as tightening my range this next session.

I'm no expert, so take my reply at face value...

Hand 4, other than it might not be the best position for KJo, you hit big on the flop, looks like a great choice by the river.
Hand 5, seems standard to me...
hand 6, I think I'm checking the flop, then raising/betting on the river, but I have no real problem with it, might be a difference in Limit vs No Limit.
Hand 7 I'm figuring you lost to the straight, but don't see a problem there either.

As toward the other hands, I agree with Pig_Vomit (that is something you'll never hear me say out loud... there just isn't a situation agreeing with pig vomit sounds reasonable Wink

I would suggest not burning through so much money, burning through $600 in a day sounds pretty wasteful, maybe drop down in stakes a bit until you are winning there before playing so high. But it seems you are fairly nonchalant about it so you may be able to afford it.

Good Luck...

in hand four it was spot I felt it would be profitable.

In hand 5 I was thinking "great hit the straight." then on the turn I was thinking the flush was there, so I bet to call, then check call the river. The flat call made me reconsider whether I was still good. What do you all make of villain's check on the river??? what hands do you now put him on?

Hand 6 I am always bet/raising OESDs, 4betting rainbow flops like this. On the turn I check because I was thinking that any ace or 9 might fill them up. King on the river was a quedstionable spot for me. Wanted to bet for value (is there any value) but it filled other draws

Hand 7 Villain is a tight played, definitely put them on an over pair pre-flop, thus the call. On the flop I think I am good, but have to question it with V 4betting (perhaps 99, more likely just over pair). The turn throws me off a little. I am willing to three bet my set, what hands just call the three bet? Could it be 99 worried that the draw came thru (I have shown that I will bet my draws hard)? Could villain be calling for deception in order to extract more bets on the river? RIer hits, and I am done with the hand, but is there value in betting there (bet/folding to a raise, maybe for fold equity)?

Hand 8 I feel is standard, any turn checks here?

On Hand Eight... I'm wondering about something. How many people put him on checking with a flush worried about you hitting the higher flush? He can't get away from it though, thus the check/call?

forgot, he had been raising with garbage then betting all the streets and calling my raises when i actually had hands. He was an 'any two cards' player for the most part. But in all fairness what do you all make of calls preflop given a very loose spewing image of villain?

I'm surprised that $1/$2 is within your bankroll, especially after going on a "sick run". I would fold all three of those hands preflop and the villian is an idiot for tapping. GL

So I figure I ought to update this thing some.

I have been grinding out the quarter/ two quarter limit games on FTP every day. I have qualified for Bronze Iron Man already, will qualify for Silver tomorrow, then Gold in another 6. I've been successfully averaging $82 dollars profit a day, with $20 Bonus cleared usually once a day.

The goal for the rest of the month is to get the BR up to $1300, withdraw a bit for the spending, then move up to $.5/$1 limits.

funny hands of the day include crushing Hans Vogl's soul at razz, coming along with A24, then going KQ67 while betting/3 betting every street. He timed down and ended up calling me wiht A2348, proclaiming, "Sicko! I think I must call you."

I also had some funny O8 hands were i maxed my low draws the entire way 3 or 4 handed and ended up scooping with a pair of 3's and a pair of 2's a few times.

That is all.

edit: Hans left three hands later with me winning one more time with A2345(6) hitting the 3 on the end to beat his A2356

Thought about some things that I would like to do in the next few months, and have decided that I am going to qualify for Aussie Millions via Full Tilt point tournaments. They have not started running yet, but I have been playing the 300 FTP sit n goes and doing well. I have 9151.9 currently, and think htatif I can get up to 100k FTPs I will be able to get a seat for sure. SO I will not only be playing for money each day, but I will also be trying to win 1500 FTPs daily ass well.

See you in Melbourne...

so you have had 15 days averaging $80-$100 a day, yet your bankroll is still below $1300?!? i don't quite understand

I mean after deposits. I have deposited $1100. So I want to be able to withdraw the extra $500 I had to deposit, then still have a $1300 online.

Current Bankroll $1239.16
Current FTPs 6387.65

Update: I got frustrated with playing limit poker online three weeks ago, after grinding to make Silver Iron Man, so I went back to playing live poker. I have decided that Online poker is not really for me, I naturally thrive when I am able to be around people. So I will only be playing online poker sparingly. I am going to keep $300 online for the time being, which will be used for whatever game I decide to play whenever I am online. Here's to having tried.

Different strokes for different folks. Do what works guy. I enjoy going down to Atlantic City every now and again, but online is for me. The problem with the casinos is there are to many drains on my bankroll. Free drinks but you tip the waitress. Dealers take the rake and you still tip them. And when you aren't running good you're compelled to play because you went all the way out there, don't wanna waste a trip. Online is no fuss. Easier to walk away after small profits or losses. But hey, do your thing. Much success.
