Incidentally, are you going for rewatchability, a collection of classics, or something else entirely?

I'm not going for anything. Just good movies. I'm sure I'll get enough movies to cover a couple of classics, a couple with awesome rewatchability. Covering all genres etc etc

Enemy at the Gates

So far the list is

American History X
Batman Begins
Cincinnati Kid
Dead Poet's Society
Enemy at the Gates
Finding Forrester

G is going to have to be the Godfather part 1. Becuase I've never seen it.

H has been chosen as Hotel Rwanda.

I is down to Identity and Interview with a Vampire.

i acknowledge four categories of movies

1. ones that are entertaining
2. ones that are good
3. ones that are both
4. ones that are neither

I have a beef with no.'s 1 and 4.

Actually haven't seen Enemy at the Gates, so I withdraw that -- but I'd be very surprised if it was better (or more entertaining) than Evil Dead (1 or 2)

Just get "Army of Darkness" and pretend it was called "Evil Dead 3" for E.

G - Ghost in the Shell
S - Shaving Ryan's Privates
S - Strange Days (!)

Seeing these lists is sort of weird. Makes me thing some of you people are my clones. I don't know anyone who owns "Finding Forrester" other than me.

Wax on, wax off - is too classic not to put on a list: Karate Kid is a must.
Hakuna Matata - ditto for Lion King (although I would not be devastated if that was not chosen).
I just realized My Cousin Vinnie also had Ralph Macchio - but that's not the reason it's a must see. Watch it again and utes will agree (especially with Herman Munster as the judge - and the fact that I'm an attorney). MASH - don't see what the argument could be about.

And last but not least - Animal House!!! How can anyone think Animal House should be left off of any list of great movies! It would definitely be one of my top 5 on that list. P.s. Blues Brothers not a bad add-on under B either.
