Im looking for a new TV right now. I know for sure I want
-LCD
-40-47 in.
-1080
-$1500 tops
Anyone got any good suggestions for me?
So far Im liking the 46in. Vizio and the 47in Philips.
Anyone heard anything about these specifice brands?
PS. I will be playing some poker on this beast every once in a while.

| Don't buy a Philips! You can't really go wrong with Sony or Toshiba. Buy one with 1080 resolution. Not quite sure how much they are in the US (approx 5000 NZ$ for a 46") but I think it might be worth in the long run. |

| Why no philips? Everytime I go to the store they look the best for some reason. |

| Philips has always ranked worst in LCD & Plasma TV reviews in Consumer Magazine (and not just the NZ version). Sony & Toshiba were always the best. We have business contact with Philips and some of their staff told me that they won't buy LCD's from them. I just take others by their word. |

Samsung LN46A550. Nuff said.
Available thru Onecall.com for your PokerStars FPPs. Easily the best bang for your buck.
I also like Sharp(banding issues)/Sony(expensive). |

He said $1500 tops so I would say the A550 is the one.
Personally, I would prefer the A650(with Auto Motion Plus - dejudder software), but I can't figure out if it's worth the extra $300-400.
I am deciding between the 46" A650 and the 52" A550 for the next 9K FPPs. Once those are earned, I need to make a decision. |

UPDATE: I just ordered a 52" Samsung LN-52A550. I'll let you all know how it goes once it is received, but so far Onecall.com was awesome. I used PokerStars FPPs to buy $1000 GC's and then onecall.com price matches Amazon.com pricing. They were super easy to work with over the phone and I can see why PokerStars chose them as a vendor.
I had enough left over from the GC's to buy some extra goodies, like an RF remote, HDMI cable, wall mount, etc.
The FPPs come out to a value of 1.61 cents per FPP if you use the electronics GC's. |
