Got down to HU in a regular PP $20 SNG and we were both either AI or folding(more AI) every hand, and I was pretty sure he was raising with crap so I called with A2. He hit the Q, but my question is if you're close in chips and pretty sure you have the advantage(albeit slight), do you make this call or wait for a better hand? He went on to win in a few hands later.

Some will disagree with me, but I don't think a soft ace is worth risking first place on. You're already in the money... and playing for first place... but second is a gaurantee. No need to run right into it. It was the "right call," but a little risky. You're far from pot-committed and have plenty of chips. Wait for a better spot.

HU i like to be the one pushing, unless I have something pretty tasty, in which case laissez les bon temps rouler!

Good illustration of gap concept -- you could certainly push on him with that hand, but don't want to get yourself hooked when the stacks are so close in size.

If he's as aggressive as you suggest, it's just a matter of time before he pushes against you and you're holding TT or better.

The more I think about it I think I agree, but I hate folding what I'm pretty sure is the best hands with blinds that big. If I get a couple more crap hands after this one, or get raised all in(forcing a fold) if I try a to steal w/rags, I'm down to 3100 or maybe less. Probably a better move with at least a middling kicker to the A.

With the blinds that size and a situations where you think you're only a slight favorite, yes you call.

you're giving yourself a chance to win it all.

Very true, and there are a number of things that would make me go on in here -- up to and including the bored "get it over with" mentality.

Good point w/r/t the blinds; hero only has 8 BB so it's pretty much do or die time. With 10+ BB in my stack, I'd wait for something better than the Worst Possible Ace. Ick.

i would call there yes. if you wait you're going to get blinded into 2nd place. he has a decent chip edge on you, time to make it or break it.
