This hasn't been as successful as I had hoped, but I've enjoyed re-reading the Harrington books and I've learned a lot. Thanks Eric for staying with me. This is it for me, but I REALLY hope someone will take on No Limit Hold Em Theory & Practice... whatever happened to that idea, Fnord? And if anyone picks any book, I'll participate. A few last questions on Part 13:

1. How is end-of-tourney strategy different in multi-qualifier satellite events?

2. If you're in doubt as to whether a deal offered you at a final table is a fair one, what should you do?

3. How big are Daniel Negreanu's balls?

zook, I really enjoyed discussing HOH2 with you.

1. Obviously in multi-qualifiers you are more in a "survival" type of mode when it gets near the end.

2. In general I don't like chopping even if the deal is fair so I definitely say "no thanks" if I'm in doubt about whether a deal is a fair one.

3. Daniel Negreanu is a freakishly ballsy player.

Wow, this book club sounds really cool. I'm all about reading books, but can't find motivation to do it. This would definitely give me the motivation. Thing is I have never heard of this before. Try doing some more advertising for this, and maybe we can try this again?

We'll be trying it again in a couple of weeks DonkDonk, with NLHE T&P. If you'd rather discuss the Harrington on Hold 'em series, feel free to post in the old discussion threads. I'd be happy to keep discussing them and I imagine Eric would be as well.

That's true, the HOH books are classics and I enjoy going back and discussing them repeatedly.

Sounds good! I'll be picking up my copy of the book soon. How many weeks do you think it will take to cover the entire book?

I read each Harrington book in a couple of days... depends how much free time you have. I've re-read them twice each though and still refer to them if I feel the urge to play a MTT.

It also depends on how you read them (skimming vs re-reading portions that are complex). I like to go back and re-read the problems several times until I understand every detail. Each book took me a few weeks. I still go back and quiz myself on the problems from time to time.
