Funny that you chose this example...take a look at CodeRed's lecture videos. He has one that is specifically over playing AK |

At this time, no there are not. This is something we are currently considering.
Either way though, we do have a policy that if you sign up and decide the site isn't for you, all you have to do is ask and we will refund you the remainder of whatever subscription you signed up with.

I've only been active on the grinderschool site for two weeks in my last months subscription. For the feeble subscription you get excellent value, I mean they are practically giving the videos away for free ($10 basic one month micro stakes subscription).
If any aspiring micro stakes grinder applies themselves to studying these videos I find it hard to figure how they can not gain immense value from them. Some are better than others, but all are well worth watching. Also the value of the forums should not be underestimated either. I've posted about five questions in the forums and can say that when you post the site admins (all experienced players) go out of their way to answer your question.
So not only do you have the benefit of the videos but you also have the site admins bending over backwards to answer your questions when you ask them, which is virtually private coaching in itself. I challenge anyone to try the site that is currently a losing micro stakes player and not see considerable improvement in their game. Good luck! |

What game/format are you looking to get coaching for? If you'd like, I can ask one of my current students in that subject to send you a reference.
| Blessdemaces wrote: | | Payment Method.....Do you except Pay Pal?? |
Grinderschool does accept PayPal for subscriptions (as well as site transfer via PokerStars or Full Tilt). Methods accepted by individual coaches will vary from one coach to another. I do accept PayPal. |

Nope, I'm afraid you didn't. This month we are running a special on subscriptions (buy 3 months, get a 4th free). In the past, CodeRed has run a special like the one you mentioned, but that definitely wasn't this month. |

What do I get if you lose?
Also this deal seems very lucrative (4 months for 3) I'm very heavily considering this. Cuz I'm not ok with not being good at poker... and everyone that hasn't been a dick to my replies has made one heck of an argument persuasivley. |

Obviously I'm biased, but I say you go for it. If and when you do, please do two other things for me:
1) Study the videos. I know you did this before, but I mean study to the point that you're taking notes. Slevin did this (actually posting some of those notes in his GS blog) and I'm convinced it made a difference. It's how I've always approached watching videos that I was learning from as well.
2) Participate actively in the forums! Everyone who has taken advantage of that side of the site has said at some point or another that it was one of the best things they got out of it. You could even go so far as to post your two biggest pots lost from each session to get feedback - that alone will show dividends IMO. |

I can go one better, and give you a list of them:
You can click the tag cloud or the sorting links (on the right just below the cloud) to filter that to find specific types of videos. |
Can you read any of the articles, or is it just videos for this subscription level?
Thanks, Sam.
edit: I had to delete the link in the quote becasue I don't have 10 posts. |

With a $10 subscription you get access to the videos listed as micro stakes, forums to support those videos, and general strategy forums. What you don't get that the $19.99 or $34.99 subscriptions get is access to a much larger selection of videos (roughly 5x as many, including all of the more advanced content on the site) and the forums to support them.
During the month of December you can get Holiday Special: 4 months of full access for $34.99 so it's actually more expensive to do a month-by-month $10 plan. |

Merry Christmas everyone!
Just wanted to post a reminder that there's only one week left in December. Once January first hits, our 4-months-for-the-price-of-three special goes away completely. |

I want to make a couple of updates here.
First off, we've brought another full time instructor on board: Andrew "Shrewdabom86" Morgasen. He has a background playing up to 38 tables of SNGs at once, playing in MTTs, and somewhat recently pwning the hi/lo pot limit omaha games up to $3/$6. He is contributing content and coaching in every venue he has played.
Second, some bad news: Grinderschool can no longer accept payment via PokerStars transfer. I was unaware that this was against their policy, until they politely informed me of this last week. Currently we still accept Full Tilt and PayPal/Credit cards, though I'm reviewing Full Tilt's policy this weekend to avoid potential issues there. |

To update things a bit: Jyms is leaving the site as a result of having too little time to make videos. We're getting some new talent in primarily to focus on cash games, but I'm not going to say who until it is final. One definite is that Renton will be doing some "guest pro" videos.
That means the staffing situation at Grinderschool now looks like the following.
Current Instructors:
Cullen (Spenda; BigSpenda73) - $10nl to $100nl 6max & full ring, Non-hold'em games
Tarek (Sugar Nut) - $10nl to $100nl 6max
John (Fjuanl) - MTTs, SNGs
Jeffrey Blake (JGB146) - $50nl to $200nl 6max, MTTs, SNGs, Non-hold'em games
Jeff Lipsey (CodeRedRulez) - $10nl to $200nl full ring, MTTs, turbo SNGs, LHE
Andrew Morgasen (Shrewdabom86) - all stakes PLO8 (hi/lo), MTTs, SNGs
Previous Instructors:
Adrian (Chardrian) - MTTs (15 videos)
Adil (AAPoker) - MTTs, HU cash & SNGs (41 videos)
Jim (Jyms) - $5nl to $100nl 6max & full ring (38 videos) |

| Hey slayer. Yea man, GS was pretty much the nuts when i got the subscription. I've watched pretty close to all the micro vids, and a lot of them twice. And you are DEFINITELY right about the set odds one. I really liked the SPR one too. But yea, it's kinda lost its luster and my month isn't even up yet. Needs more content at the micros. Especially lecture vids. |

We're actually releasing another micro stakes lecture this week. That said, the micro stakes subscription is primarily for letting you see what we have. If you're going to stick around, it's only a few dollars more per month to do the full subscription which has over 5 times as many vids.
We can't afford to give everything away for our lowest rate - our instructors do have to get paid |

Still to be determined. Current expectation is for a bit of both FR and 6m. They'll only be available under a full subscription.

I have an update regarding our team of instructors. We have an additional full-time instructor (who will be producing videos on a weekly basis by the end of the month) as well as three guest instructors.
Our new full-time instructor is:
Sutton (sucout; gametight) and he will be covering cash games (full ring, 6-max, and heads-up) spanning from $10nl to $200nl. He is also available for private coaching.
Our new guest instructors are:
Thomas (Renton) - $100nl+ cash games including full ring, 6-max, and heads-up
Juan (asdpikas) - limit hold'em cash games @ $2/$4 and below
Ian (DaGoat) - NLHE cash games from $10nl to $100nl including full ring and 6-max
I am also working to bring in another SNG instructor, but I don't have specifics there yet.

Videos from our new instructors (all three from FTR) are now rolling out into our normal lineup.
DaGoat's first video was released last week, analyzing a member's play at $100nl. Next up in the coming weeks is a new $10nl video to give his view of micro stakes.
Gametight's first video was released today. He will be releasing additional videos about once a week.
Renton's first video will be released tomorrow, covering advanced concepts for $100nl and above. He will be releasing additional videos about once a month.
Asdpikas's first video will be released next week over LHE. Additional LHE videos will be released periodically in the future.
We're still talking to players (mostly at 2+2) in search of another SNG instructor.

We have our new SNG instructor. Matt (Glitlr) joins us as a professional player focusing exclusively on 9-man SNGs. With about $30k in profit from some 20,000 games, he knows his stuff. Check him out on Sharkscope - he's a silver star player, ranked in the top 10 for earnings in 2008 and in 2009!
Not only does Matt know his stuff, but he instructs very well, and adds a nice touch of humor to his videos (I was laughing-out-loud while watching his sample video).
Note: Most of Matt's videos will be available only to full subscribers.
Cheers,

I feel like Jyms bought my subscription for me! I watched this video and I shit you not the very next session I was pulling in so many more chips than I had ever done before with sets. I thought I had tried everything and was convinced I just needed to learn how to be sneakier and slow play better. Omg was I ever wrong.
I must say I am really bummed Jyms has left just before I signed up but hey he left behind some great info, ie his videos! Thanks Jyms!!! |

I subscribed to Grinderschool when I was playing 5nl. Subbed for the micro subscription, then the full subscription. This was less than a year ago (you can still see my donkish threads on GS lol). I am now a 200nl winning player and will be taking shots at 400nl in the next few days, and a big part of all that is thanks to what I learned at GS.
I recommend them to any person trying to get the basics down and wants to get serious about their game.
PS: I might want to register again now to see gametight's videos and pwn him when playing him |

It's been in the works for at least a month now, but this week we finally got everything in place and working. All new Grinderschool videos will be announced in the Grinderschool page on Facebook, on Twitter, and via RSS. It's easier than ever to keep up with what videos are coming out and keep an eye on what is relevant to you. Links to all of these services are available from the GS front page.
Also, I normally don't announce video releases here at FTR (I'd have to do a week at a time and haven't seen any need or use to do this), but I do want to mention a new series of videos we are developing. I guess that's not quite accurate: it's a set of series over "How to Master X", where X is a particular format of NLHE.
The first set is over NLHE SnGs. Glitlr kicked it off last week with an excellent lecture over early-game tactics. Soon he'll follow with mid-game play, late-game play, and more advanced tactics, as well as live videos designed to emphasize the concepts introduced in each lecture.
In the coming months Spenda will do a similar series for 6-max and CodeRedRulez will do the same for Full-Ring.
Cheers,

And Killsaids, congrats on the progress! I knew you were doing well, but didn't realize you'd gone that far. Well done. And of course we'd love to have you back, even if it is just as a spy against Gametight

this is almost as bad for online poker game quality as the ability to subscribe to Cardrunners and Stox for about zero Full Tilt FPPs....
I'm sure the vids will be great, that's a shame. |

I see your point, but honestly, GS is barely a drop in the bucket of online poker. I'd be amazed if our members comprised more than .001% of the poker-playing population. I'm always going to choose helping them however we can over any argument that it strengthens the level of the competition.

all good, it was kinda tongue-in-cheek - the stox/CR thing has been bad though...
nothing against grinderschool per se, and if it wasn't for poker knowledge being shared online (this site!) i'd be about $20k poorer, so it would be hypocritical of me to be too upset
Your business (GS) is helping your members get better, you'd be silly to stop doing this job well. Good luck to ya! hope it keeps going well. In the meantime, how about you direct members away from Full Ring, away from Full Tilt, and away from 100 and 200nl when their bankrolls increase enough to move up!?! I hear stars is good |

At the suggestion of some of our current members, Grinderschool has decided to start releasing podcasts. We're expecting to put these out once a week, and they will be available for everyone (not just paying members). We're still finalizing some things, so they likely won't be out until May.
One of the segments is going to be answering listener questions. Those can be anything from Poker Strategy to the story behind my dog's name. And that is why I'm announcing this before we have the first podcast up. If you have any questions you would like answered on air (from myself or any of our instructors), please email them to podcast@grinderschool.com and sign with the name you would like mentioned.
I'll post an update here when these are online. They will remain free to everyone for as long as we do them.
Cheers!

Each podcast episode will be downloadable from the site. We'll also make announce each new episode on Facebook, Twitter, and via RSS.

Now that April is over, the April Fools video is no longer the Grinderschool featured free video. In selecting the new video, we decided to go with the introductory video by Glitlr, as he is now leading the SNG section. This video will also be cycled into our regular selection of free videos.
On another note, last week we released the first video in the eight-part "How to Master 6-max" series by Spenda to the micro stakes subscription. The first four parts of this series will be available in the micro stakes section; the full series will be available to full subscribers. A new video will come out once every other week until the full series is out.
We have a few other new features in the works that I'll announce here once they are ready for prime-time. The podcast is one of those, but it's not quite ready yet...
Cheers!
