Just wanted to report quickly on my first time in a B&M Casino this past Monday. Played 2/4 Limit at the Trop in AC. Bought in for $120, finished up $38 ...not too bad. A few observations:
-The dealers varied widely from complete suckage to outstanding. The worst example in my head was as follows:
Just sat down and there is a hotly contested pot. Eventually board ends up being Q K K 7 5....woman turns over A K and announces she has trip kings. Guy with pocket Qs turns over his hand and glumly announces, "I only have trip queens." I am not paying a lot of attention, but the dealer pushes the pot towards the woman. She takes all the chips and begins stacking them. I, confused, say, "Hey, didn't that guy have a full house?" General pandemonium ensues...granted the guy should have had more awareness, but this was not a hard hand to read by the dealer. I was shocked by that. The guy gets returned SOME chips by the woman but not nearly enough for the size of the pot. It sucked.
-Met a bit of a rounder. Guy sits down, raises hands without looking, claims to be only looking at one card on the flop....(I watch him closely and I believe he is looking at both with a bit of slight of hand.) He gets a lot of people to call him with inferior holdings because of his carefree, raise in the dark, etc, attitude. I win two straight pots from him in a row with an A high flush and 2 pair (As and Ks) and he immediately leaves. 
-Encountered the fishiness and calling stations everyone warned me about. Generally just played my premium holdings...usually if I was reraised I was out of there.
Also, one etiquette question for those of you who know this type of thing...Is it illegal to muck face up?
Following situation arose: I had A-K...flop came down AQQ....I will spare you the boring details, but I bet out on the river, got called by another guy (who I knew i had beat) and another guy re-raised. His re-raise told me he had a Q, which he slowplayed, and I, a bit bitter, mucked face up. Guy with the Queen had a coronary. Legal or illegal?

If it was just the two of you in the pot, no coronary necessary. If there were other live hands in it, then yes, you don't want to show your cards until the hand is over.
I was at the Commerce Casino and something similar to the QQs full vs. trip Ks hand happened. The guy to my right was in a pot with the guy on his right. The board paired twice - say Js and 8s - and they go to showdown. The guy next to me has 33. The other guy had Ax. The dealer pushed the chips to the guy with the 3s and scrapped the board. I said "why did he win?". The guy said "I had pocket threes". I realized that this wasn't my place so I backed off. Then the other guy started getting agitated (but he didn't speak much english) and that agitated the dealer. They all looked to me for the answer about the two pair on the board and I just said "the board paired twice" and shut up because it was holding up the game. The "winner" finally gave up a few chips to the other guy but the dealer acted like he was going to be deported if anyone found out that he misread their hands. |

I noticed this too. There were a few hands that there were disputes on and questions about, and rather than call over the floor, the dealers always tried to settle it themselves (when there were obviously belligerent people, serious errors made, etc). They acted as if they were going to get fired if the floor had to come over.
I kind of thought it was weird too. |
