heres a few hands from my first session at $25 NL after switching from SnGs. Im in the process of loading programs back on my PC after a crash, so no PO2 yet.

1st hand. This table was full of fish. A couple of shorties, but mostly full stacks. Is it really this easy at the $25 NL level?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

SB ($9.50)
BB ($22.40)
UTG ($31.80)
UTG+1 ($11.20)
MP1 ($24.65)
MP2 ($26.95)
Bode-ist ($32.15)
Button ($9.25)

Preflop: Bode-ist is CO with T, T.
UTG raises to $1.25, 3 folds, Bode-ist calls $1.25, 3 folds.

Flop: ($2.85) 9, 5, T (2 players)
UTG bets $2.25, Bode-ist calls $2.25.

Turn: ($7.35) J (2 players)
UTG bets $5.25, Bode-ist raises to $10.5, UTG calls $5.25.

i was trying to get him off of any flush/strait draws with the reraise here.

River: ($28.35) A (2 players)
UTG checks, Bode-ist bets $18.15 (All-In), UTG calls $17.80 (All-In).

Final Pot: $64.30

Results in white below:
UTG has Jd Ad (two pair, aces and jacks).
Bode-ist has Th Ts (three of a kind, tens).
Outcome: Bode-ist wins $64.30.

2nd hand

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

CO ($13.85)
Button ($10.85)
SB ($14.75)
BB ($10.75)
UTG ($17.80)
UTG+1 ($9.75)
MP1 ($16.90)
Bode-ist ($60.55)
MP3 ($4.75)

Preflop: Bode-ist is MP2 with A, Q.
2 folds, MP1 calls $0.25, Bode-ist raises to $0.75, 5 folds, MP1 calls $0.50.

Flop: ($1.85) A, J, 9 (2 players)
MP1 checks, Bode-ist bets $0.75, MP1 calls $0.75.

Turn: ($3.35) T (2 players)
MP1 checks, Bode-ist bets $1.25, MP1 calls $1.25.

im pretty sure im ahead at this point. is the 1/3 pot size bet good to keep him around?

River: ($5.85) 4 (2 players)
MP1 bets $2, Bode-ist calls $2.

Final Pot: $9.85

Results in white below:
MP1 has Qd 9d (one pair, nines).
Bode-ist has As Qs (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Bode-ist wins $9.85.

3rd hand. i probly should fold this preflop, but as stated above, this table was juicy and people called down with complete horseshit.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Button ($13.50)
SB ($22.95)
BB ($15)
UTG ($9.65)
UTG+1 ($14.50)
MP1 ($6.30)
MP2 ($8.40)
Bode-ist ($64.85)
CO ($5.50)

Preflop: Bode-ist is MP3 with A, 9.
3 folds, MP2 calls $0.25, Bode-ist calls $0.25, CO calls $0.25, 2 folds, BB checks.

Flop: ($1.10) 7, 8, 9 (4 players)
BB checks, MP2 checks, Bode-ist bets $0.75, CO calls $0.75, BB calls $0.75, MP2 folds.

Turn: ($3.35) 4 (3 players)
BB checks, Bode-ist bets $1, CO raises to $4.5, BB folds, Bode-ist ???

i thought maybe he was slowplaying the strait, and with 2 to a flush on the turn wanted to get me off a draw.

hand 4. This guy had been min-raising alot. I thought i was toast for sure here.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP2 ($41.70)
Bode-ist ($27.35)
Button ($27.35)
SB ($70)
BB ($35.55)
UTG ($20.85)
MP1 ($17.15)

Preflop: Bode-ist is CO with 9, 9.
3 folds, Bode-ist raises to $0.75, 2 folds, BB calls $0.50.

Flop: ($1.60) T, 4, 9 (2 players)
BB checks, Bode-ist checks.

Turn: ($1.60) 2 (2 players)
BB bets $0.25, Bode-ist raises to $0.75, BB calls $0.50.

River: ($3.10) K (2 players)
BB bets $0.25, Bode-ist calls $0.25.

Final Pot: $3.60

my intention with raising the turn was to see where i was at, and as you can see that did me absolutely no good. should i raise more here? and again the min raise on the river. i dont know if he is wanting me to reraise here so he can push?

Thoughts?

Please don't play A9o in MP, dude. It will only take one hand for you to lose a buyin with top pair 9 because you're convinced they're simply too crappy to beat you.

In the last hand your turn bet was FAR too small because anyone who holds any hand or draw will call it, so no, you won't get any info.

In case it's not already become clear to you, THE favourite fishy move in $25NL is to minbet with a flush draw, so that's what I would have read his turn bet as. Therefore I am betting enough to give him terrible odds to play for the flush - $1.75 minimum.

Yeah, I raise turn minbets at this level just as a matter of course.

Ya dude the stars Bonus is near impossible at this level.... With a smaller bankroll you must do SnGs... you need to get 840 FPPs.

Hand 1 - Looks good
Hand 2 - Looks good, raise to around 1.25 pf and bet that flop harder
Hand 3 - I'm just ditching this pf and definitely folding that turn
Hand 4 - Bet that flop! It is a scary one for your set... plus you need the build the pot.

The problem with the Stars Bonus and NL games is that you only get an FPP for pots that reach $20 ($1 raked) Sad At 50NL it would clear faster, but still rather slow. The fixed limit games clear quite fast, however.

what happens if say you limp into a pot, then fold after the flop, but the final pot reaches over $20? do you still get an FPP? i was checking earlier while playing, and it seemed like i would get one every once in a while without playing a big pot.

General thoughts:

Raise pre-flop a little more (hands 2 & 4). Definitely to $1 probably $1.25. Bet flops at least 1/2 pot, preferably 3/4 (hand 2). If there are lots of players, bet full pot. Don't play unsuited aces lower than AQ, unless open-raising from LP (hand 3). Don't always slowplay your sets on the flop (hands 1 & 4). You want to build a pot and the longer you wait, the harder it is. Not to mention you make them pay for their draws (hand 4).

You just need to be dealt cards and have the pot break $20. You can fold preflop and still gain a fpp.
