when i'm heads up at the end of a SNG, i show a lot of my hands. for example, if i raise his BB with an ace in my hand and he folds, i'll show it. then when i get AA/AK/AQ, i'll limp and trap him real good when i hit my ace on the turn/flop.

Showing my bad hand worked to my advantage big time yesterday. I was on the button on a 8 person table. The blinds were at 75-150. There were two callers in the pot when it got to me. I had 74o and raised to 600. I was obviously trying to steel the blinds. The SB folded and the BB raised to 1800. Everyone folded to me. I said "I am sure you have 7 high beat" and I turn my cards over. From that point on I started getting cards and people started calling all of my bets. For example, same blinds I have QQ, raise to 1200, a guy goes all in for 2200. I call. He has A6o. I dont think he would have made that move If I had not shown a bluff a few hands earlier.

Kind of a funny side note...The flop on that hand was AQ6. Luckily I avoided another Ace and took down the pot.

Moral of the story is I think showing a week hand is can be profitable under the right circumstances.

I almost never show a hand, although sometimes I will purposely make a bad call after the river to pretend I am a moron. This is essentially showing your cards, but not really.

I know that I am already beat, but by calling the $1 bet and letting him see my crap, he might think he's gonna own me. Now the table is primed....

I was playing a live tourny last week, 80 players, down to head to head.
I had twice the stack as my opponent. blinds are 4000 /8000. Homeboy in small blind puts in his 4 grand, and I raise to 40,000. I knew he was gonna fold, (which he did) and I was quick to show him my 34 off suit. He was pissed, and 3 hands later I busted him for the $700 bones first prize......

Here's a situation: I have Jh 4c, the flop comes out Js 10s 5s. The other two in the hand check...I bet bb and they folded. I showed hoping next time there is a suited flop and i hit, they may think i just paired the board. Any ideas on this????

One thing that I dont like is people who showboat. For thoes of you who dont know that is when you flaunt your hole cards after the hand is over. I think its great if people show their hands to get more cashflow going, but if your going to show your hand just to be an poopyhead then thats pretty lame.

Exact reason I show my hole cards ^^, I want you to be pissed, and then pay off my aces.

I probably show too much, in serious games I rarely show but in home games with mates I tend to show hands, 'specially funny hands like a three-bet with rippy when I sense weakness etc.

I seldom show both cards. I like to sometimes show just one. I was in a pot with another player a few weeks back. Im playing AsQd and by the river the board was 4 to a spade flush. Im holding the nuts and my opponent bet into me so I minimm raised. After a while he folded and I showed my Qd while mucking my Ace. I love to do this against cocky players that give it all the mouth at the tables. He had been acting like a twt all night. Later on I took him out with KK. He got to see both my cards then. Hehe.
