Hey guys this post is meant for live games... Since I have alot on my mind I'd like to take the time to post some comments...

IF you were to mention a hard player to read in nl holdem it is probally Hoyt Corkins. I can think of no way a read could ever come off of him. Is it beneficial to play like that? Hoyt obviously feels the best way to gain chips is giving his opponents nothing to feed off of. While players like Phill Helmuth try to extract information and force players on tilt by asking questions and being a cocky sob.

In my homegames I sometimes try to be like Phill Helmuth when I said all in id try to confuse my opponents with my babble. I try to be so wierd and confusing that my opponents are just totally lost and everything about my style of play is not consistent. Other than raising 3xBB.. Lately im just putting my hand over my mouth like Corkins and being a total rock when I bet.

Since its a home game, I feel that im playing for fun and money but mostly money. No one enjoys playing with a Hoyt Corkins but his style of play might be more beneficial to extract chips and give your opponent nothing to go off of. I have tried playing like both players and will adopt the style that will make me more succesful in future tournaments and homegames.

Since I have been kinda wandering in this post I would apreciate any responses towards..What do you guys think about the contrasting styles of play between the two players and which is more beneficial...
Hoyt Corkins- A rock
Phil Helmuth- An active talkative player who trys to throw his opponents through loops and gain information with his chattering.

Although these aspects are minor they still fill little gaps in my game.

I think it's most beneficial to do what your most comfortable with. the thing about being talkative is that you have to be careful not to give off tells yourself.

Once you become accustomed to live play, you won't give off tells vocally, unless you're a fool.
