The general consensus from the replies was to have the tournament on Saturday. So here's the 411:
Starting at 6pm SHARP, $50 buy-in, no-limit hold'em. Blinds start at $1-$2 and double every twenty minutes. Payouts for the top three positions based on ten players: First: $275, Second: $150, Third $75. First and Second place can split the pot if they come to a mutual agreement. This tournament should last 2-2.5 hours.
After the tournament, $25 buy-in, no-limit hold'em. $1-$2 blinds with rebuys allowed until everyone's tired.
I'll pick up at party sub from Subway and some chips (any suggestions what kind.) BYOB, but don't bring too much. I still have leftovers from the Superbowl party I'm trying to get rid of so I can actually put some food in the fridge. Thanks to the Xianti, there's also mass quantities of Vodka to mix in the freezer. The Crystal is off limits.
On the list of "definitly will play" are:
Xianti
Eric
Rob (is playing on Saturday, but likes to tell people it's Sunday)
Jenny
Ken (dead money...big fish)
Wiese (can someone give this boy a ride)
Paul Pistole (Laker fan since 5 years old)
Shane (caught him on the 23 at 4:30pm yesterday. i guess county employees are exempt from working 40 hours/week.)
myself
On the list of "questionables" are:
ttanaka
Aaron
If you're in the list of "definitly will play" and cannot make it, let me know ASAP so I can fill the seat. Also, if you're on list of "questionables" and can make it, let me know so I can lock up a seat for you. |

Sorry, Jay, I think you'll have to count me out. But I'll see you Thursday in London. Will you be bringing one of those Motorola walkie-talkie's?
I'll be equipped with one when I'm there, so if you have one, bring it.
And set your channel to 7. The new ones (which is what I have) have a 5 mile reach.
If I don't hear from you sooner, let's plan on hooking up for dinner, we'll plan on being back at the hotel around 7:00pm. I'll leave a note at the front desk for you.
Good luck at the tourney and I'll see you in London. |

Xianti was the early chip leader when he knocked out Big J Money on his first hand.
Paul then overtook the chip leader position after a few hands, but Xianti quickly reclaimed chip leader status when he knocked out Wochie just a few more hands into the tourney.
Xianti held on to his chip leadership (knocking out Rob and, I believe, Lan in the process) with Paul in second throughout most of the tournament -- though Eric was in a close third. Ken was in a distant fourth with his chip-stack.
When it was finally down to 4 players, Eric had a string of lucky river cards battling with Paul and knocked Paul out, overtaking the second position!
Ken eventually was knocked out and placed third.
Xianti and Eric were virtually tied (with Eric in a slight lead with $10 more in chips or so).
Xianti and Eric settled.
Eric received $215.
Xianti received $210.
Ken received $75.
FTR wins again!
I'll post photos later. |

I'm beginning to think there's a poker curse when you host a home game. I was the first one out at my own tournament. When Ty hosted one, he didn't make it into the money round. And when I went to one a Paul's house, he was the second one to get knocked out.
Had a great time though. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can set the table up outside, fire up the BBQ and kick back in the spa if you get knocked out.
I'm thinking Wochie will be spending a lot of time in the spa. |

Your FTR representatives at this home tournament (actually, this is during the cash game after the tournament)...
Eric teaches another player some strategy while Xianti takes down another pot. |
