| What's the forums' thoughts on the way to get other players to go all in while you're chip leader? The example I'm thinking of specifically is when you're chip leader and playing against a couple of other players. I find it's most effective when I know I have the nut hand and am chip leader, to bet the amount of what's in front of the other player I want to go all-in, rather than me going all-in over the top. I think psychologically, it implies to the other player that you may be bluffing to get them to wager the rest of their chips instead indicating you have the dominating hand that the over the top bet suggests. Any thoughts? |

| well unless they have something, they usually wont call, even if they think you're bluffing. I like to bet a little under their stack size before the river, then on the river u can finish them in for the rest of it since it would be stupid not call a trivial amount once they've put that much in already. |

Yup, the suck in is definatly the way to go. The other great feature of that move is that it sets up bluffs with smaller bets. Any thoughts on how much to bet and when? I've been trying to get this technique down on the cash tables... |

| what I tend to do if I happen to flop the nuts is to bet out weakly at the flop, like 1/4 pot size, if someone calls you, tehy got something. Then check it at the turn. That why you give the impression that you were trying to bluff at it on the flop. Then on the river bet out the minimum, if they have anything they'll reraise you big and you can set them all in. If they just call your minimum bet then they probably wouldn't call a bigger bet. |

I like to bet around 1/2 their stack... That way they can either call it becuase they can fold later, or re-raise you all in  |

One thing I love to do is when I'm trying to pull off a bluff is to make a bet that will put them all-in. But, instead of just pushing my whole stack in and going all-in myself, I like to make my bet equal to exactly what they have left in their stack.
It's more of a psychological ploy really. I've found people are much more reluctant to call if I make my bet equal to their stack size as opposed to just going all-in myself and them having to call that with the rest of their stack.
It's the exact same thing because it would take their entire stack to call but the psychological aspect of it seems to be almost like I am daring them to call my bet when it's exactly equal to their stack.
Just my 2 cents and I've found that it works more often than not in that they won't call when I do this and I want them to fold so I can bluff the pot. |

I like to do the same except I ususally will bet about 65-75% of their stack. They almost always come back raising all in, only to get knocked out while I'm holding the nutz. |
