I have wanted to post anything in this circle but i've been sucking ass at all my tourneys lately - But today I finally pulled one off - won the $5 +50c 45 man SNG at FTP today - Good lord its been too long - Won $86 - I know it ain't squat, but i've had the worst luck (and bad play lol) - Even today with like the final table i got to the shortest stack and had to claw my way all the back - But then I wouldeither steal blinds or have hands - FINALLY!
my next win will be a real one though - like the 550 MTT i won in Oct - THAT was a nice one |

1) How do u get $30 free from Party?
2) congrats on the 30>>150 but watch out cuz u aint rolled properly for NL25... no offense just wud be sad if u lost all ur hard earned $150 just after winning it!

1) It must be because I haven't played on Party for at least 6 months.
2) No offence taken. I am well aware of Bankroll Management. As it was free money, I decided to mess around. I did well and it kept growing.
I have come to the decision to keep going until I lose a buyin. |

| I won my first SnG ($5.50). That's sad because I've played so many...but what a great first win, came back from 10-1 chip deficit at the start of heads up to take it home! |

Just had a huge upswing in my Stars 11's. I had like a 8% ROI after 30 tournaments. In the last 9 tournaments, I've had 5 first places, 2 seconds, and 2 busts. Obv its a small sample size but in the last 2 days my bankroll went from $350 to 500 - not too shabby.
I've just started playing sit n go's like 3 weeks ago, and thanks to the guys on Ventrilo - I know a lot more about the complexities of tournemnt play. |

| Not a huge accomplishment, but being a semi-novice I would say that I patted myself on the back a time or two when I won a 30 player Gauntlet tourney this season against the likes of ERockdog, IllesIrish, Warpe, Hartlin, givememyleg and other very good players. |

I'm a micro Limit ring game player. Been dicking around for months but read some books, started a journal and found this site a couple weeks ago. Yesterday I played the worst session I've played in a while, -25BB in 1:10. I got up, mowed the lawn and tried again 2 hours later with my mistakes written on a paper next to me. Game broke up 3:17 later. I was +52BB. I think some of the old, bad information has gotten pushed out of my brain by the new, good info. Someday I'll be at a limit where if I win 52BB I can afford triple lattes for me and the wife
Thanks all. |

| Completed my first ever 1k hand session tonight, 3 tabling 6max took about 4 hrs to complete. It was interesting, I never had to rebuy or tack on at any of the tables yet I ended up 8bb down for the session. I am actually encouraged b/c I played so poorly and only lost .8bb/100 which is not totally terrible. |

I did the new fish thing of putting $50 down at PP and playing the 25NL tables. Got shown a thing or two and the BR got as low as $6.
Since then I have been playing MTT Freerolls. My first one I finished 18 of 2000 and won $1.50. So I kept at it and finally finished 3rd of 2000 in another one a few days later. Very nice to get that extra $15 dollar buffer. Since then I have not been able to get that far.
Now I have discovered SnG. Playing the 5+1 and took first in my first SnG, 6th in my second and 2nd in my third bringing my BR back to $48. One more good SnG and I can retire from PP with a slight lead and move on over to Paradise or one of the other recommend sites with 5+.50 SnG.
Thanks for all the great advice on this site. |

I'm new to this site and new to online HE. The best thing that has happened to me lately is that I found this site.
First I played play money games while reading through this site heeding to the advise, strategies, etc...
I soon improved and started playing real money (SB) NL games. I am slowly moving up but most importantly I am having FUN!
The most important things I've learned is to take bad beats as just part of the game. And to be patient when playing with overly (crazy) agressive players. They use to make me angry, now I look at their stacks and say to myself, "I have a better chance at those chips than anyone here."
Thanks to everyone here.
You have made me very happy |

Just won my first NL SNG on my second try. SNG0003b @ Ultimate Bet. Single table 10 handed $1 +.10. I'm normally a limit player but I may have to try this more often. 50BB in one hour! I'm ready for the big time |

7th out of 203rd in a $15 MMT...not great i know but it was the best iv ever done in a big prize tourny.
I had about 25k chips left, little below average of around 35k chips but not in huge trouble as the blinds were only 1k/2k no antes. Also, there were a few shorter stacks of around 10k or so I could move up in pay out fairly easy.
AA in the BB, yesss. MP of 30k chips raises 6k, I re-raise about half my stack to 15k planning to push any stack, MP pushed AI and I call. AA vs AKos
flop J 10 x o shittt
turn x no queen
river q ahhhhhh
109 bucks
I'd say that suck out cost me about 100 bucks in the long run eh? It was a very top heavy pay out with over 900 bucks going to first |

edited 8-31 for continued hot streak...I broke even in June playing robot like 8tables of full ring...then here's my results since cutting to 1-2 juicy 5max (sometimes 1-2 full ring) tables and really focusing/adjusting starting July 1:
Running hot rules!!! It's like .01/.02 from last year! Thanks FTR. The threads in the beginner's digest helped a lot, especially on table selection and psychology... and of course all the donks handing me their stacks I finally feel not like a beginner...I'm a novice now |

Two wins posted above..
Both were PokerStars, both 10 dollar entry - one 12 player and one 35 - I have never seen these games listed in the s'n go's.
Are these new?

I sat down at the $10NL tables where I normally play and played three hands.
First hand sees me limping 66 from the BB and catching two pair Qs and 6s on the flop. One caller comes with me to the river with trip Qs, but I make a boat on the river and take a $7.70 pot.
Second hand sees me calling a min raise from the SB with AQo and forcing a fold at the river with TPTK, taking a $10.50 pot.
Third hand got me comboys on the button. player in EP raises to 3x and I re-raise to 10x and collect two callers. the flop gives me a set and my re-raise to a minimum flop bet doesn't chase either of them away. Turn is a rag and I bet out, which puts them both all-in. They call and my set holds up giving me an $11.84 pot. |

Just had a good morning.
I deposited $150 at Sun Poker to clear a Bonus, waiting for another cashout before I can move more over.
Came away $96 up from the $1/2 tables, while clearing $10 in Bonus and earning a few more dollars in Rakeback.
I've once again broken the $1k BR mark, this time I feel like I'm more worth that than before (even if it mostly came from bonuses).
If I can keep playing good aggressive stuff on good tables I could be rolled for $2/4 before the end of the month. |

After depositing $100 in May and playing 5NL and 10NL I finally broke the magic $500 BR last week and have moved up to 25NL.
What a slog it was!

I'm currently playing at my first ever final table! It's a $3.30 at Stars (as Limoni).
MTTs take more patience than I realized. 4 hours and counting is a long time to play reasonable, smart poker; I now have a lot more appreciation for the people who I know play in much harder games for much longer. |

| okay it's a small start but a good one for me. I have played on and off for about 2 years. I would deposit $50 on Party Poker and than run it up to $120 in no time, than hit a bad run of cards and piss it all away. Finally I found this site, read up on proper bank roll management and using the 19 hands doubled my $150 buy in (I know it's still a little underfunded, but's all I can mangae). Anywho, made my first withdrawl ( doubled up and took half for me and half to my BR). Finally feel like a winning poker player, and I still have a bankroll! I know it's small but it's a huge step for me. |

First post in this thread!
Two weeks ago I moved up to 50NL after being at 25NL for the past 8 or 9 months. I've been killing it so far after making 1k in the past 16 days. My roll is now over 4.7k. |

Ok, it's small fry but I won my first MTT yesterday from a field of 158.
It was only a $0.60c tourney but it returned $25 and increased my roll enough so that I'm now playing $2 SNG's and am almost rolled for $3 tables.
As I said, it's small fry but I'm well happy. |

BR has tipped over $2k even before I get this months Rakeback paid (waiting on about $130 there). So until variance swings back I'm a fully-rolled $100NL'r |

I am kinda new here, started playing poker 3 weeks ago. (Got some help from friends to teach me the basic strats, and i have been reading lots. )
Today I tried my first $6 SnG at PokerStars and lo and behold, 1st place!
OK, only 25$ won but profit is profit.

My best ever single table session, both in Absolute terms and relative terms (up 5 buyins! Woo!). Shame I was in the red on my other 3 tables but I stll showed a healthy profit thanks to this one

not really a winning of money, but this for being true to myself. I started a text document/journal of what I am thinking and what my mistakes are as I make them. I do this in an attempt to plug some of my leaks, and since then I have been a much more profitable player. cause everytime I do something wrong or right I make a post, and it forces me to work through my leaks

Running hot rules!!! It's like .01/.02 from last year! Thanks FTR. The threads in the beginner's digest helped a lot, especially on table selection and psychology... and of course all the donks handing me their stacks I finally feel not like a beginner...I'm a novice now |
