I was at a pp NL sit 'n' go tourney the other night. There were 5 people left. I'm the BB (i forgot what the blinds were, but we were about at maybe 3rd or 4th level) . I got about $600 in chips and am the lowest in chips. The guy to my left is the next lowest and he has about $800. Now, I get dealt a QJ, everyone limps in and I raise (double the blind). 3 people call (including the guy to my left). The flop is K,T,9 rainbow. A STRAIGHT!!! I go all in (about $500), the guy to my left calls and the other player folds...the turn is a Q, the river is a K.....we show our cards and he's holding a K,Q for a full house .......my question is, was it a bad call to go all-in? did i play that hand wrong? |

| Sometimes you can play perfectly and there's just nothing you can do. |

| yup. I just think about all the times i've lost with AA. It's just a fact, there is a luck factor in poker. |

You made the right play, it happens. Check this out:
Sit 'n' go $10 +2 and I'm heads up. I get AA and raise. Opponent re-raised. I smooth call going for the trap. Flop is blank, blank, 2 (rainbow). I make a solid but callable bet, hoping he has lower pair. Opponenent raised all-in. I call. Turn is another 2. River is blank. I lost AA v. A2. He made a set of 2s on the turn.
I think I played the hand perfectly, and was all in after the flop while I had the best of it. He was drawing dead w/ only 2 outs and I had him all in. |
