Because the times the dinky post oak bluff works you fell like the greatest player ever, but most of the time you just look back and call yourself a donk.

How did you end up getting a 6 figure salary in your mid twenties? And what advice do you have for kids when they get out of college?
If you went out onto the local country club what would you shoot with an hour warm up at the range and putting green? |

Umm, i have a nack for start ups, ive only had one "job" from the time i was 14 on and it was at a country club in the golf department. I think it has a lot to do with actually running with biz ideas and going for them. Sometimes they fail, but you only need one good one to turn a little into a ton.
I started flipping cars at 16, ie going to car auctions buying pos cars, fixing and reselling them. In about a year i had about 15k saved up, and my dads gf at the time was working for a company delivering luggage at the airport. she was talking about all this money she made so i went and tried it out. The company was run really bad, poor service, high prices, slow delivery time ect.... So i talked to my dad and told him we could do it better and it went from there. I dumped my 15k into it, my dad matched it (pretty much all he had at the time after a failed biz attempt) and we ended up getting 1 airline at dfw. There are about 70 carriers at dfw so this was TINY, but with aggro tactics, way lower prices, and 24 hour service we slowly won every airline and put maxhaul (other co) out of biz and it went from there.
Advice wise for college, i guess try and get a job in your field, save your money, and think constanly about ways to make money. Something will hit you, and if you work at it hard enough, one will succeed and you will be on your way. I have a degree in O chem and i will prob never use it, but it is good to have.
As for the golf thing, i havent hit a golf ball in a few years minus playing once or twice, but i would be pissed if i shot anything over 80 or so. The last time i did play i think i shot 79, tee to green i struck the ball very well, but my short game was so bad and rusty it was gross. |

A friend of mine and I have a fair amount of money to invest in a business we would like to start. Problem is, we can't come up with any ideas that grab us. We spin a bunch up but then after thinking about them we always come up with stuff that turns us off the idea.
Any ideas for us? |
