Hey guys, I'm gonna revive this thread for at least a bit. Been on a mini downswing lately and what usually happens is I stop playing poker for a while. Butttt, I wanna get in 30k more hands until the end of the month so I'll start a small operating and update DAILY! Maybe put in some hands too.

BTW it's all gonna be at 2/4

Here we gogogoo!!!

The death of InterPoker has resulted in a 2/4 partyyyy

Hands : 4015/30,000
+4045$

I'm not playing very well. I'm still not used to 5max and the overall aggressiveness involved. I think I'm used to run over people and double/triple barrel so much, but its not working here, people will call you down with ANY pair. Time to adjust. I should probably play 18/16 or something, I would totally destroy the games just by having tighter ranges in 3bet/4bet pots. Its very hard for me to tighten up though, it would involve folding suited hands and stuff (gah!) . I should probably drop the tables to <8 to help focus.

Berate me on this one : (Although I feel its pretty close Smile )

1) $2/$4 No Limit Holdem
5 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
CO ($780.20)
BTN ($942.20)
Hero (SB) ($398.50)
BB ($400.00)

Pre-flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is SB Ace of Diamonds Seven of Diamonds
CO raises to $14, BTN calls $14, los calls $14, Hero calls $12, BB raises to $84, CO folds, BTN calls $70, los calls $70, Hero raises to $398.50, BB calls $314.50, BTN folds, los folds

Flop: Ace of Clubs Eight of Hearts Seven of Hearts ($979, 2 players)

Turn: Two of Hearts ($979, 2 players)

River: King of Diamonds ($979, 2 players)

[Results Hidden]

And this one:

2) No history whatsoever vs villain. He seems a little more on the passive side but no symptoms of "broken fold button", which is a very contagious disease on this site.

$2/$4 No Limit Holdem
5 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG ($357.00)
CO ($420.00)
BTN ($1066.90)
Hero (SB) ($378.00)
BB ($418.00)

Pre-flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is SB Ace of Spades Jack of Clubs
1 fold, CO raises to $13, 1 fold, Hero calls $11, 1 fold

Flop: Queen of Spades Nine of Spades Nine of Clubs ($30, 2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $20, Hero calls $20

Turn: Eight of Spades ($70, 2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $35, Hero raises to $105, CO calls $70

River: Five of Hearts ($280, 2 players)
Hero bets $240, CO calls $240

[Results Hidden]

Running very well though but hopefully I play better when variance turns around. Peace.[/b]

Update..

Hands: 9,666/30,000
+6500$

Played some disgusting sessions, where I would start up 5 buyins then get coolered and tilt like 1-2 buyins at the end of the session, and finally end down (obv). I then decided to play 19/16 12 tabling and see how it goes, and what a relief. It feels so good to actually have premium hands and not always air all the time Smile

20k more hands in 8 days seems do-able...

30k hands at 2/4 operation:

14,000/30,000 hands
~+$12k

Just had a ridiculous +11 buyins session in 1k hands and 60 minutes.. think i stacked like 7 ppl in 5min at some point.. it felt good to run like the sun once again.. I'm playing a lot saner than before, and just straight up never bluffing the non-believers and its paying off.

I'm not putting enough hands in, the weather is incredible right now in Montreal which makes it very hard/not worthwhile to grind. Hopefully I can manage like 5k hands/day next week but its not very likely.. happiness EV ftw..

Yeah it kinda seems like spew, but we're repping a super strong range and we're about 30% against a calling range, assuming we get only one caller.

Im too lazy to run the EV of this, but i think its close to 0ev maybe even slightly positive and good for meta Smile

edit: actually its pretty bad.. we do have 30% against a calling range, but we def do NOT rep a strong range lol

Ongame was going well, but they had changed softwares a few weeks ago, and that totally turned me off. I'll wait till they fix it before I return.

Meanwhile, I've switched to Stars mostly for 3/6-10/20 and this is my July up to now, running goood! Very Happy

Suppp people,

After starting the month on an absolutely sick heater on stars, things have settled down and I even ended the month on a 20k downswing (not even 20BI though so not too bad). I feel like the regs are adjusting to me infinitely better than on past sites. They are also somewhat nittier on average which is annoying to deal with for me. These aren't really valid excuses, but I just don;t think 5ptbb is achievable for me at 5/10 PS, and having losing sesssions fkin tilt me, I'm just not used to them and it the result of that is bad play usually due to a lack of confidence. /whine

Sooo, idk what to do. I'll prolly just have to settle for a smaller winrate and work on my game a tonnnnnn. This is a fun challenge and I'll get to it right after i come back from vacation on the 19th.

I was looking at my old DB to cheer me up, these r all the hands on Crypto from July 08 to April 09. About half is in pounds, and mostly 2/5. I fkin miss Crypto. Hopefully I havn't posted this before lol.

the thing i'm most jealous about by far is the redline. that's just sick. so few players are good enough to have a breakeven redline.
awesome.

Tough to say. Having played FTP/Party/Stars/Ongame recently I feel like stars and Ongame are the best sites. Stars is prolly the best of them all if u combine RSA security token/fishyness/software/customer support.

Everyone has different priorities though so it depends.

red line is def overvalued. Butttt, people with redlines going straight down are definitly doing something wrong, or could be doing stuff a lot better, whichever way u wanna put it.

You can tell a lot about someones game just by seeing their red line.

Dark green line is what matters in the end. All this ptbb dick waving contest and redline bigger than urs contest is all fluff.

red line is def overvalued. Butttt, people with redlines going straight down are definitly doing something wrong, or could be doing stuff a lot better, whichever way u wanna put it.

You can tell a lot about someones game just by seeing their red line.

So if I told you that I have about 120K hands lifetime (still a noob obv), and for the first 60K my redline was breakeven, but for the last 60K it has gone steadily downhill to the tune of well over 30BI, what would that tell you about my game?

I can also tell you that the downward trajectory started right about the time I moved up from 25NL to 50NL, and 50NL has not been a happy experience for me so far.

(Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your op, but I'm really interested in this.)

EDIT: happy b'day!

Tony- I was gonna write a long post, but there are so many things that I'm not sure what applies to you specifically.

But in general ppl with huge red lines compared to their blue lines tend to be spewy and stationny (not folding before showdown can't affect your red line).

And ppl with red lines going 45degrees in the negative are probably weak and do dumb stuff like putting 1/3 of their stack in then folding too much. Or chasing a lot then folding when missing. Or just general leaks in 3bet/4bet pots..

There can be many factors, and I already said the red line is overvalued so why are we talking about it ?Razz

I have mentioned before that the redline is a result of your play, You can't change your play just to effect the redline. It's very easy to make the redline even or run up, but if it's not a natural part of your play you will spew a ton of chips

Interesting.

I never took any notice of my red line, so maybe I've been undervaluing it??

Anyway, I'm not going to read too much into it, but the "dumb stuff" you mentioned are all things I tend to lapse into, especially when I'm tired, tilting or otherwise off my A-game. Sometimes I find myself folding the river after missing a draw with a lot of my chips in the middle, and that usually means its time to go and do something else for a while.

I also think I've loosened up preflop over time, quicker than my postflop skills have developed to handle it, which leaves me in too many bad spots on later streets. Time to stop opening AJo UTG ...

Thanks man. Oh, and happy b'day!!
