It's 8am, I've been playing all night long. There is still a huge whale with a deep stack on the 20/40nl table. I was deep too. But this is enough, i'm exhausted.
I won 33k today.

i'm impressed, stopping when you're becoming incapable of playing your A-game - even in these circumstances.

So I went deep in a tourney again, FTOPS ME, 74/4880 for 3.6k. I somehow luckbox my way to the late stages, but can't go past that point. It's pretty frustrating, but I guess that's what donkaments are about right?
As for cash games, the road has been pretty choppy since that huge day, ive pretty much broken even. I started out shooting for a 100k month but that's unlikely to happen at this point, since I have about 40k to go with 12 days left.
Here's a fun hand from today, don't take this line with AQ imo:
$2/$5 No Limit Holdem
6 players
Converted at weaktight.com
Stacks:
UTG ($52.60)
UTG+1 ($421.60)
CO ($904.13)
Hero ($543.15)
SB ($979.94)
BB ($276.05)
Pre-flop: ($7, 6 players) Hero is BTN
2 folds, CO calls $5, Hero raises to $22, SB raises to $50, 1 fold, CO folds, Hero calls $28
Flop: ($110, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $44, SB calls $44
Turn: ($198, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks
River: ($198, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $75, SB raises to $885.94, Hero calls $374.15
Final Pot: $1533.09
Hero shows:
SB shows:
Hero wins $1093.30 ( won +$550.15 )
SB wins $436.79 ( lost -$543.15 )
CO lost -$5.00 |

Damn yo, that sucks hard.
3 buyin stop loss!! riiiiight.. I don't think you'll ever put that in effect.
And yah I think thats pretty common type of bad session:
<insert solid play>
small Brag
small Brag
Beat
Beat
Beat
<insert Tilt here>
Bluff
Beat
<omg insert mega Tilt here>
Bluff
Bluff
Bluff
Bluff
<holy insta quitssss>
Bad session WITH some kind of stoploss:
<insert solid play>
small Brag
small Brag
Beat
Beat
Beat
<holy insta quitssss stoploss>
Money saved:
Bluff
Beat
<omg insert mega Tilt here>
Bluff
Bluff
Bluff
Bluff
<holy insta quitssss>
It's hard to stop loss and I used to be really bad at doing it. Cause you always wanna make your money back. But in reality, it's probably always best. 3 buyins might be too small, but 4 and at most 5 is reasonable. Even if its only a 30minute break to clear your head and comeback, it's probably enough to avoid a big tilt.
You know who suggested I stop loss in the first place? It was a very wise man who wins lots of moneys..... |

Truth is, i feel like my vids would suck. I also have a few stalkers reading my blog that are also Crypto regulars, and I wouldn't want to teach them how to win at 7ptbb over 200k hands, imo.

I sometimes justify idiotic plays by saying I just run bad, ohh I run bad, so lemme shove this hand without FE, and blame it cuz i run bad. OHH, i just sucked out, i deserve it, cuz i run so bad lately.
NOOOO!!!
poop you, STOP FUCKING COMPLAINING..STOP JUSTIFYING BAD PLAYS AND SAY U RUN BAD, who the poop GIVES A SHIT, YOU GOTTA TAKE THIS SHIT SERIOUSLY ITS NOT PLAY MONEY.
/rant Having a good month despite these last couple weeks of run bad/play bad. Need to get my shit together tho.

Damn right, GO MONTREAL!! Give it to me when I make my return to Australia? kthx..
I started playing back in August 2006, started with SnG's and ran my BR up to 3000$ within like 4 months of playing. I then switched to cash games and started at 25nl in December, and quickly went to 200nl (within a cpl months) because I already a healthy BR. In February of 2007 I was already playing 400nl, and by June 2007 I was taking shots at 5/10. I then had a 40k downswing which scared the shit out of me, went to Australia , got back, and been playing 2/5 and 5/10 to get my confidence back, with some shots at 10/20++. I'm a BR nit, so hopefully you can move up quicker if you put in the hands!

I'm also getting lessons from a sick poker player in the next few days. I've never got coaching and didn't really need it up to 5/10, but I'm sure its worth the 500$/hr if it helps me improve different aspects of my game that will help me beat 25/50+ next yr. |
