All,

I raised 2.5 BB in hopes that SB (TP) would shove and/or BB (LAG) would call - encourage some action. Please critique my play.

Thank you and Happy New Year!

Respectfully,
Soho

Nice. I dont mind going 3way w a short stack in there, although this is probably better suited to multitable play. You got free chips in the middle with aces. Sweet.

unless SB cracks your aces and BB's hand, you'll be ITM. I'll take my chances

Somebody explain me a scenario where you wouldn't go all in with AA.

Never in a SNG. The one situation I can think of that you might fold AA is on the bubble of a satellite where you're second stack, there are multiple short stacks and the big stack goes AI ahead of you.

OP, if you lost this hand, I'm sorry you got sucked out on.

Thank you. Fully understand that this is AI after SB shoves (and in every other case). I was wondering more about the 2.5BB raise in lieu of a push from the start - the whole bubble play, push vs. standard raise given our stack sizes vs. blinds.

Soho

I think the standard raise is good here. I would not open shove this. You're not scared of being called (in fact, of course you want it!), so why scare them all away with a shove? The only situation in which I'd shove this is if you'd been shoving a great deal up to this point and possibly shown down garbage hands; in that case a shove would be my move because a standard raise would look awfully suspicious.

raising is good as long as youve done it before a few times otherwise it kinda rings alarm bells if youve been shoving a lot.
If you have been shoving alot I prefer to shove it.

Hmm, is there a case for flat-calling the SB push and BB call?

On the bubble, isnt our most +EV play to knock out the SB? If we flat call we can check down incase the SB sucks out but the BB sucks out bigger, and if BB gets fiesty and pushes later in the hand we can always call.

Then again I guess if the BB sucks out enough to beat your aces, he probably will push and you'll probably call and be knocked out in 3rd place...
