It's not the prettiest flop, but you have top set and 30% chance to fill up. What more could you ask for?
So, his KQ held and you lost the hand? |

| Me like, i mean you are getting 1.8 to 1 or whatever, which is close to break even if he only does that with the nuts, but throw in semibluff possibilities, or donkey factor and i think you make money in the long run. |

| He's in position, I just don't think it's likely he pushs here with a nut hand. Likely he has AA QQ or 87. Two of those hands you have crushed. |

I think it is very likely he pushed with the nut hand, its just prolly not the only thing he pushes. |

| I would raise him to more than $520, still too cheap IMO. |

You have to call this anyways, his range here is pretty wide and you are ahead of everything but KQ, pretty obvious stuff.
More interesting here is your flop raise, possessed said he woulda raise more but you gave him pretty bad odds here anyways and we dont want to discourage AQ from calling against the odds. I sorta like this modest raise. |

Where is the mystery? Isn't this an easy call? He could have a smaller set, AhTh QQ, KK, JT, AhQh, or KQ or 87. Isn't the push what u want him to do when u small raise him? If u are asking about ur flop reraise, I think I might have raised more and then made less money when he folded. Nice hand. He just payed for ur next vacation.
By the way, do u generally just call with JJ or did u have a read saying you could call him down vrs a flopped Q or K? Or that he was a real rock who finally caught his big hand? 6 players raise from cutoff, with u in position I'd want to reraise most of the time w. JJ.
By the way 2: are u still 8 tabling the party SNGs? or are u doing mostly ring now? |

The betting pattern is:
Flop pot: 190
Villain over bets pot: 220
Hero raises to 520:
Villain pushes:
Do you have any read that he plays nut hands this way? I would bet he plays the AhQh (and the AhKh) this way as well. I also think he plays AQo (as well as quite a few other hands that you dominate) this way too. Anyhow, his over the pot bet would make me very inclined to play it the way you did, although I would have raised more, something like 700 I think.
Anyway, I'm guessing he had quite a bit more pot equity here than you thought, 'cos you're posting? Did he have AhQh? |
