I've been playing at Lock for about 2 months, and I find it a very good site. The software and graphics are good and run well. It can be difficult to find a table at the size (2, 6, or 9 players) and stakes you like, but the "wait list" feature will place you at a table according to your specifications as soon as one is available. Some people have complained about the support function, but I have found them to be helpful and reply in a timely manner. I would recommend Lock.

Lock poker is currently one of a few options for U.S. players but it is likely your money is unsafe there. Lock has consistently taken over a month to pay out rest of world players with 'instant' online processors such as moneybookers. The only reason for this that makes sense in my mind is lack of liquidity for lock and that means it is possible that lock will fold someday soon. With that out of the way, if you play here just keep in mind to leave as little online as possible.

As for the games, there is some tournament action but decent stakes mainly on Sundays. There is a fair amount of SNG action although a lot of it is in hyper and other other formats like double or nothings. There is very little 9man, 6max, or mttsng at off peak times. For cash players there are plenty of tables, mainly at 6max once you get to higher limits.

In general, lock support, bonuses and overall layout are very confusing. Various options are located in various places as opposed to one useful website or area.

NUTS: Lock Poker certainly has a lot going for them. It is currently one of the few websites allowing U.S. players to play and it recently launched its own network, Revolution Gaming. Lock Poker’s Welcome Bonus epitomizes the definition of “generous” and is just one of Lock’s attractive, ongoing promotions.
BEATS: Although the site says they offer 24/7 support, I was told that I had to submit a ticket and wait up to 8 hours before I’d get a response. And, although the site does offer help via live chat, its live chat service is currently offline. Deposit and withdrawal options are decent but there are a few easier methods that the site doesn't support. Also, there can be much lower traffic on the site compared to some of the other bigger sites.

Lock Poker is a relatively new poker site that is commissioned and run by Malta’s Lottery and Gaming Authority. In addition to their Poker room, Lock Poker also allows players to access an -in-house casino that offers a reasonable selection of table games, slots, and video poker machines as well. They are a member of the Revolution Gaming Network of worldwide gaming sites, and based out of Curacao. They provide a decent option for those looking to play in a reasonably soft cash game or fast-paced poker tournament online.

In terms of their game selection, Lock Poker offers a lot of different games, but few games beyond Texas Hold Em and Omaha fill up quickly. Overall, you can find Hold Em, Omaha, Omaha H/L, Stud Hi, Stud H/L, Razz, 5 Card Draw, A-5 Lowball, 2-7 Lowball, Badugi, and a barrage of Mixed Games as well, so the menu is certainly impressive for a site of its size. The problem is that it’s difficult to find much action in some of the less popular games. Even with regular games going at most limits for Hold Em and Omaha tables, the action at the other games is sporadic and somewhat rare, so don’t count on being able to jump into a juicy game of 2-7 or Badugi whenever you happen to feel like it.

Tournaments at Lock Poker fill up well and offer good action at the Micro and Small Stakes, and they also offer a nice menu of freerolls for new players and existing depositors. Be sure to read the conditions of a Tournament as they offer many different kinds. One nice thing about the tournaments at Lock Poker is that they offer a wide selection of games and formats for Micro-limit players, so everyone can play for a very small investment. Tournament buy-ins start at $0.06, so there is truly something for everyone at Lock Poker.

If you are a Sit n Go player, Lock Poker offers a nice selection of Hold Em and Omaha games, including Turbos, Double or Nothing Tournaments, and the unique “All In or Fold” Tournament as well. Games start at a $0.60 buy-in and we found decent action running all the way up to the $30 Level, so this site definitely can appeal to a wide range of sit and go players.

Overall, besides a relatively small player base at the time of writing, there is a lot to like about Lock Poker, and it is definitely a site worth checking out as a player. Lock Poker Software Interface/Usability

Lock Poker is a registered room from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta and is also a part of the Revolution Network. Its software is easy to download and install, and you can do so directly from the front page of their website.

When you open up the Lobby, you’ll notice an interface very similar to sites like Bodog, and that is simply because there are only so many efficient ways to arrange a poker lobby, and this one definitely works well. It is all tab-based, meaning that you choose a type of game (Table, Tournament, SNG), followed by the poker variant or tournament type that you want to play, and then you move down to selecting the exact game that you want to sit in. If you’re playing a tournament, the lobby will show you at a glance if you’re playing in a Turbo, a Shootout, or any other special conditions. Any time you sit at a cash table, you can see the players sitting in the game listed on the right hand side of the lobby, as well as any players that are on the waiting list to get into that game.

Please note that Lock Poker is one of the few poker sites out there that allows you to access part of their casino directly from the poker room. The ‘Casino’ tab on the far right side of the gaming menu allows you to jump from the poker tables into a game of blackjack or roulette without moving over to the actual casino side of the room. It is an instant-play option that is designed to allow you to play a few hands or spin the wheel a few times with relative ease, and it is actually a pretty intuitive and fun feature to use if you want a short break from poker.

The software at Lock Poker can be somewhat slow in downloading and installing, but once you are through that process it is quite easy to use and easy to find the games that you are looking for.
