The Latin American Poker Tour ( LAPT), sponsored by Poker Stars, is a series of tournaments scattered throughout South and Central America. Season One began in 2008 in beautiful Rio De Janeiro and since then the LAPT has grown steadily, adding one event per season. The explosion of low cost LAPT satellites allows people from around the world to travel to stunning Latin American locations and participate in prime poker action. Poker Stars has done it once again, replicating the quality of their unrivaled on- line brand and stamping it on another part of the globe.

LAPT Season 1 (2008)
The inaugural season made stops in Brazil, Costa Rica, and Uruguay. Each of the prize pools was massive, hovering close to the million dollar mark. Latin American poker giants such as Poker Stars pro Andre Akkari and The Shark, Humberto Brenes, battled it out on the felt for their share of the colossal prize pools. Brenes' brother, WPT bracelet winner Alex Brenes, navigated his way to two of three LAPT Season 1 final tables. FTR's Max Steinberg, Massimo on the forums, was runner up in San Jose earning nearly $150,000!

Season 2 of the LAPT returned to the destinations of the previous season and added another event in the gorgeous Chilean valley of Vina del Mar. The prize pools blossomed, three of the four event had prize pools of over one million dollars! The highlight of LAPT Season 2 was an 18 year old German, Dominik Nitsche, winning the Grand Finale in Argentina. Dominik qualified on-line at Poker Stars. Nitsche bested a field that included WSOP Main Event Champions Joe Hachem and Chris Moneymaker to become youngest LAPT Champion.

LAPT Season 3 (2009-2010)
LAPT Season 3 kicks off November 19, 2009 in Costa Rica and intensifies into the Grand Finale to be held sometime in the second quarter of 2010. The Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), once a WPT event, has been picked up by the LAPT and scheduled for January 4-14, 2010. The addition of the PCA to the LAPT ensures there will be even more on- line satellites available than Season 2. For just $2 or 111 FPPs you could travel to an exotic destination, clash with the pros, and return home with hundreds of thousands of dollars!
