Do you know what a "Bad Beat" is? The below example is a real hand that demonstrates a bad beat that I encountered:

*I'm holding POCKET ROCKETS! Generally, it is incorrect to slow play this monster hand,
so I pref-flop raise:
Pre-flop:
Player4 folds. Player5 folds. Player6 calls.
Player7 folds. Player8 calls. Player9 folds.
Flop Turn River raises to $1. Player1 last folds.
Player3 calls. Player6 calls. Player8 folds.
*I raise $1 and two people call.
Flop (board: 4d 5c 2s):
*This is a great flop for my hand, nothing out there is suited, there are no pairs on the board,
so my hand should be a HUGE favorite. I also have a gut-shot straight possibility.
Player3 checks. Player6 bets $.25. Flop Turn River
raises to $1.75. Player3 folds. Player6
calls.
*Player6 bets $.25, I raise $1.75 hoping he will call, and he does.
Turn (board: 4d 5c 2s Ks):
*Turn card brings a King, not a big factor.
Player6 bets $4. Flop Turn River goes all-in for $4.35.
Player6 calls.
*Player6 bets big! Maybe he hit a pair of Kings or he's bluffing at the pot. It's possible he hit two pair,
but why would he call a pre-flop raise with K4 or K5 or K2??? That doesn't make any sense.
I believe I have him beat with my pair of Aces. I go ALL-IN!!! I believe I am the huge odds favorite to win this hand.
Player6 calls my ALL-IN.
River (board: 4d 5c 2s Ks 4h):
*River card is another 4. Uh-oh... did he hit trips?
(no action in this round)
Showdown:
Flop Turn River shows Ad Ac.
Flop Turn River has Ad Ac 4d Ks 4h: two pair, aces and fours.
Player6 shows Jc 4c.
Player6 has Jc 4c 4d Ks 4h: three fours.
*Dumb ass was holding J4!! Stayed in the hand and got lucky with another 4 on the river!!
This is how it goes sometimes. I got this player to go ALL-IN with
me when I had the best hand, that's all you can really do. This player is a poor player, but even poor players get lucky. Over time,
we make money off these guys. Yes, I'm very angry, but I'm also happy that there are players making these horrible calls.
Poker requires patience... I'll be patient and I will get him back. You do not know his handle, but I do, and I'll be
looking for him...
Hand #526418-20621 Summary:
$.75 is raked from a pot of $15.55.
Player6 wins $14.80 with three fours.
