Everest Poker Room Review

Everest Poker Overview
Everest Poker is targeted mostly at inexperienced low stakes players, which is great for those with a solid game looking for an easy profit, or indeed if you're a beginner yourself looking to get your feet wet in a friendly environment. No Limit stakes start at $$0.01/$0.02 and only go as high as $25/$50. This range is enough for most players, but the high-stakes crowd should probably look elsewhere.
Limit stakes are listed more sensibly, and are from $0.02/$0.04 up to $50/$100. At the time of this review, however, there were only four limit games running, with the highest set at $2/$4. Once again this won't suit the players with the biggest bankrolls. Sit and Go's can be entered for as little as $0.04 + $0.01 and progress up to a fairly large $500 + $30.
It's worth noting that, sadly due to the UIGEA, Everest Poker does not currently accept U.S. players. In addition to the U.S., players from Russia and China are also not allowed on Everest.
Everest Poker has grown substantially over the past few years, working extremely hard to become known to the masses and appealing to them as well. They are an independent poker room on their very own network: the Everest Network. They've become the sixth most-played network on the Internet in the past few years. This poker room is a great place to begin playing poker, and they've recently revamped their poker room software to make it even better.
There are a few negatives however. One would be the lack of diversity in games, as there are only variations of Hold‘em and Omaha, whereas many other big sites these days feature at least some Stud varieties and occasionally draw games. Also, unless you have a newer computer, you may find yourself getting irritated as Everest Poker does eat up quite a bit of memory, especially the closer you get to their twelve table limit. But overall you'll find many, many more positives than negatives during your playing experience at Everest Poker.
Everest Poker Software Interface/Usability
Everest Poker offers its own unique client, rather than simply a skin of somebody else's poker room, and they do a pretty good job. The download is about 1.1MB when you first grab it from the internet, although during installation a few more MB are downloaded, so that Everest has everything it needs to run.
Sadly US players are not accepted at this time, and so are restricted from downloading and making accounts with the Everest Poker software. Mac and Linux users are also left out in the dark, as the downloadable client is Windows only. If you're a Windows user outside of the US, though, then Everest Poker is certainly not to be overlooked.
The Everest Poker lobby is very easy to use. Simply choose if you're wanting to play Holdem, Omaha, Sit & Go Tournaments or Scheduled Tournaments and then you can narrow down the selection using a variety of filtering tabs such as No Limit, Fixed Limit or 1-on-1. If you know exactly the type of game that you're looking for you can even set up a custom filter to show you only those tables that meet your specifications.
You can play up to 12 tables simultaneously, although the more tables you add the slower the program gets, and it can really start to hog your CPU. With regards to table sizing, you can stretch and expand Everest Poker's tables however you'd like, but they also give you a feature that not many sites offer: you can choose to size the tables to four different resolutions. Those resolutions are 640x480, 800x600, 1024x728, and 1280x960. Combined with the ability to resize your tables to your own custom choices, this feature of Everest Poker is ahead of most others.
The CPU usage issue is really the biggest problem with Everest Poker, as it really can start to make your fans whirr, especially if you enjoy multitabling. They do offer some options to combat this, however, and turning off the 3D avatars in conjunction with disabling chip and card animations is certainly a big help. All in all this is a small issue that shouldn't detract from what is a very well put together software package!
Everest Poker Room Action
Everest Poker's action is a bit of a mixed bag, some will love it and some will hate it. The negative side of things first, their limit and no-limit cash games don't go any higher than $50/$100 and $25/$50 respectively. This is fine for most people, but the lucrative high stakes players will likely look elsewhere, with most sites offering upwards of $200/$400. In today's competitive poker age, it's paramount to offer enough games to players of all stakes to ensure that none are alienated and go elsewhere.
However, Everest Poker is unbelievable for micro to mid stakes players. There is a lot on offer for those range players in cash games, Sit n' Go, and tournaments, and the site seems to have no problem finding players to fill the tables. The more players there are the more likely people are going to be mixing it up, so if you're a low or mid stakes cash player then the action on Everest will be very much to your liking.
Right now, Everest Poker's tournament schedule is a bit lacking, with just a $100 buy-in 50k Guaranteed as their big weekly Sunday tournament. There are a few smaller guarantees every day, ranging between $500 and $5000. However, for a poker room that is as prominent as Everest Poker it is not enough. In time, look for this to improve as they step up their schedule.
Everest Poker Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
The level of play at Everest Pokeris very loose. Down at the $0.05/$0.10 no-limit tables, you can see a flop percentage of 70-80 regularly, with average pot sizes usually between $0.70 and $1.50. Move up to $0.10/$0.25 and there is still a very fishy average of 50%, with average pot sizes mostly around the $3-$4 area and some as high as $10.
Because the site is clearly aimed at beginners, you will find a lot of them there as you would expect. Obviously this means bad beats and suckouts and you can forget trying to get somebody off a pot by giving them bad odds. But if you open up 5 tables and play a good solid game there are plenty of people ready to hand you their stack as long as they have bottom pair or a low kicker.
The tournaments are the same story. With entry fees starting as low as $0.04 + $0.01 for single table SNGs, the fish rating is almost obscene. You will see all-in moves and calls with any two cards higher than a Joker. The freeroll MTT’s with small prize funds are the same and there is very little skill involved.
Everest Poker Bonuses and Promotions
The Everest Poker signup bonus is simple – you get $800 free for opening an account! You do have to deposit at least $10 within 14 days of registration to activate the bonus, and you must play with those funds in order to clear the bonus. The bonus money will be allocated to your cash account in increments up to $800, depending on how mnay points you are able to earn. This $800 bonus is exclusive to FTR so make sure you sign up with the links on this page and use the Everest Poker Bonus Code FTR800 when signing up! If you do not correctly signup with the links on this page the bonus will not be applied and the code will not work. You will have 14 days from when you register your account to enter the code in the bonus section of your account. Make sure you enter the correct bonus code, FTR800, for the improved $800 bonus!
To clear the bonuses, you have to collect 'Summit Points'. Summit Points are earned by either playing raked cash game hands or paying tournament fees. The number of points you receive depends upon the amount of rake and the number of seats at your table. One Summit Point is given per $1 in paid rake at a 10 player table. For example, if you pay $0.50 in rake, you will get 0.5 Summit Points. At 6-max tables you earn 1.4 points per $1 raked, and on heads-up tables you'll make 3.5 points per $1 raked. It is worth noting that all the seats don't have to be filled, the different values apply no matter how many players are actually at the table. Eight Summit Points are awarded for each dollar paid in tournament fees.
$1 of bonus money is then earned at the rate of 16.67 Summit Points per $1. This means that to clear your FTR $800 free bonus, you need to earn at least 13,336 Summit Points. If you play at higher limits this isn't too bad, but down at the $0.10 games you would probably have to play for quite awhile before clearing the bonus. Therefore it's recommended you play at least 50nl to meet the deadline. You have 30 days once you deposit to earn as much of this $800 bonus before it becomes invalid.
Take advantage of one of their two welcome offers along with your first deposit bonus. Get 10 FREE $1 tickets to play in any dollar entry tournaments, and get 30 tickets to play in the Daily Grand, where $1,000 is given away each day! Enter the code 10FOR10 when you make your first deposit to receive the $1 tickets. The 30 Daily Grand tickets will be credited automatically when you make your first deposit.
Everest Poker also just launched their new VIP program, called 'The Summit Club'. Here, players are able to convert Summit Points into cash, right through the software. The convert at the rate of 1 SP for $0.004 You can convert up to $5,000 per month, depending on your tier. This basically works exactly like a rakeback and is a huge bonus for loyal players. As you increase your VIP level, you will also earn a Summit Point bonus, up to 750%. In order to be eligible for the Summit Club you need to earn at least 500 points in one month. Earn even more and you'll progress further up the ranks and receive even greater rewards.
They also have a friend-referral bonus where you receive $200 for each friend that signs up based on a referral from you (up to a maximum of 100 per 180 days). Your bonus size will depend on your VIP tier. In order to receive this money, you must sign up a friend and have them make a real money deposit. Then all you have to do is clear the bonus in the same way as the initial deposit bonus. Easy money!
With all the possible bonuses available to Everest poker players, and the ability to "stack" these bonuses, you can set up your own rakeback program yourself! Click here to read more details on how to get your Everest Poker rakeback. Basically, this system works like rakeback, but it isn't actually money back from the rake you pay. Rather, it is the bonuses stacked on top of each other so you can constantly be collecting bonus money.

Everest Poker Customer and Technical Support
Everest Poker has various ways in which you can contact their support desk. First, you can fill out the form on their website which will e-mail directly to an agent. They will then contact you back within 24 hours (usually sooner). Another great thing about Everest Poker is that support is available in up to 16 different languages. Most large online poker rooms only have English support or a few other options. However, with 16 different languages you can be fairly sure you can get the help you need. You can also reach this page in the lobby by clicking on Help - Player Support. It will open a new browser window and you can go from there.
They also have live chat and a phone line, but unfortunately these are only available to VIP members. The live chat is open from 14:00 - 21:00 GMT, Monday - Friday, and is available in French, German, Italian, English, Dutch, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese.
If you prefer talking it out with somebody, they also offer a Click to Call service for their top-tier VIP members, which allows loyal players to be contacted quickly by support for any issue.

Everest has come a long way from a few
years ago. Many of the older reviews
are outdated for Everest Poker. Everest
has been surging outside of the US, and
its network has substantially grown
since 2006. Everest is now the main
advertiser on the felts of the 2008
World Series of Poker poker tables!!!
It may be time to check out Everest -
it's always been a soft network for
experienced players, but now with the
WSOP advertising, it's sure to grow and
collect more noob's. Have fun and good

STAY AWAY! I made a deposit, no problem.
But on my third cashout I get demand for
ID verification. I had no problem with
this when it came to sending copy of
driving licence and utillity bill, but
they wanted copy of my credit card when
in fact I used moneybookers to deposit.
When I told them this, they then ask for
screen shot of moneybookers account,
which I sent them, but I edited out my
balance and transaction history, as they
had said that they only wanted to see my
name and email address linked to this
account and my balance etc was none of
their business. they refused to let me
access withdrawals untill I sent them
unaltered screen shot, which I
reluctantly did. So what do they do?
they block my access to my account
completly, and do not reply to any
emails I send them. From the looks of
the previous post, it looks like Everest
Poker have started a nice little scam
for themselves. Well they stole over
$400 of my money. BE WARNED!

Everest-Poker is the best site for
european players. I've played there for
one year now. At the very beginning
there were only very few players and it
was hard to find a table, especially
above the micro-limits of fixed limit.
But Everest reacted and reward
limit-players with freerolls and other
promotions. Even the higher SnG and MTT
are running now 24/7 with lots of
entrants. Of course the traffic is not
that high as it is at Pokerstars or
other major sites, but you will always
find a table or more.
The main reason for playing at Everest
are crowds of fishes. Even at higher
limits you will find players that hardly
can spell P-O-K-E-R. 60% seen flop and
huge average pots.
They also improved the software. So you
no longer need to re-login after you've
been disconnected. The graphics and
sounds are also very good. The only
thing I miss are resizeable tables.
The support is not that good. It took 3
days until my last request was answered.
But at least I can communitcate in my
language - German.
I hope that Everest will keep up the
good work. It has lots of potential to
get a really big one.

Everest Update on 21 Sep 2006

my .02, as it seems this article hasn´t
been updated for a while.
the software is still functional, they
had an update for the cards and it´s now
possible to play more than 2 hours
without getting eye-cancer. the avatars
are a bit annoying and on 4 positions at
the table you can hardly see the button
behind them. turn them off.
the number of players online isn´t
displayed, but i´ll estimate it close to
titan poker. the days of only one
running $25NL table are over, now you´ll
find up to 50 (6max and full ring)
the fact, that the tables are rotating
and you´re sittin on the same seat at
every table makes multitabling much more
easier, it takes a short look and you
dont have to look for your seat when an
active table pops up.
the competition at the low-stakes is
(even for that limit) really soft. in
peak hours there´s lots of raising and
all-in action going on, you´ll see hands
shown down i wouldn´t even have pushed
in my first party-play-money games a
year ago. lean back, take their money.
sng and mtt players have to adjust their
early stages play, as the initial M here
is 66 (i remember party was 33) and you
have to get used to start with 100
chips.
one BIG NUT: since i´m playing there (6
months now) one bonus i chasing the next
one. i received $100 sign up, followed
by 25, 75 and right now i´m clearing
another $100. i don´t ask why, it´s free
cash.
the technical support is great, you´ll
get fast and detailed replies.
two beats left: u cannot resize the
tables, which is really annoying with
more than one table runnig and my last
vashout into neteller took 48 hours.

Mainly just want to offer a
clarification of the hand history issue
on Everest.
The Hand History option is not great
here, but still better than e.g.
Pacific.
While one cannot get anything other than
the 'chat' format with the graphical
suit illustration, it IS possible to
access seperately from the tables chat
function.
One can go to the "My Account" section
and see tables from the last year and
hands from the last three months.
Not ideal, but better than nothing.

A Hidden Gem on 29 Jan 2006

I do not play cash tables... STT, H2H,
or MTT. That having been said, here is
my take on Everest Poker.
Overlook the clunky lobby interface, its
functional. They have a "filter." Name
the stakes, game, and number of people.
It lists those tables.
At the table lose the avatars, otherwise
it's too crowded. The table rotates so
you are at bottom center, no more,
"Where the hell am I?" when your MTT
table breaks.
The software functions well. The slider
is not on steroids or in warp drive. You
can type in a bet. Bets and chip stacks
are plainly shown. When "folding" they
animate the pocket cards as being mucked
on the table.
No problems cashing out, less than 24
hours into my Neteller. Never dealt with
tech support so I dunno.
As far as finding games well, I play
STT's, H2H, and MTT's I never have a
problem finding something going on.
Bonuses, nothing to shout about, but the
best feature, the one that keeps me
going back: you NEVER make an actual
cash deposit to make a cashout. You
don't have to play a Freeroll with 500
fish only to bust out after 2 hours and
miss the money.
They offer a free buy in 10 top limit
game. Pays 5 cent, 3 cent, 2 cent for
1-3. Take your nickel, go to the 5 cent
NL ten top. Win that, go to the dime
table or even the twenty cent table. Win
that... go to the fifty cent table. Win
that and go to the two dollar table. Get
the idea? I started on the free table,
played 6 hours and cashout $25.00
Not a lot of money... but I never made a
deposit. I had a great time and some
very challenging games. You could take
your winning and go to the cash tables
but if yer thing is STT's then Everest
is a blast. They also offer daily MTT
for $1 and there are always 200-300 or
more in that. Start at the free table
and earn you entry fee.
The only drawback is that you have to
get used to starting with 100 chips. The
blinds start at .50/1. Just move the
decimal and think that its 1000 with
blinds starting at
5/10 if you like, but trust me, once you
get used to it, it makes playing NL a
whole new game.
Once you are past the free table, the
blinds go up 10 minutes, very generous
compared to some places. The only place
with blinds longer is Poker Stars with
their 15 minute blinds (that I know
of).
The other biggie is their "Satellite
Tokens." Most place, you win a
satellite, you are tied into a certain
tourney, at a certain time... win that,
you are again forced to play when they
decide in the semifinal and so on.
You play for "Satellite Tokens." These
are used to play in a tourney of your
choosing at a day and time convenient
for you. They do not expire. You even
may accumulate them and then use a group
of them to buy into a big buy in
Sattelite. Imagine starting completely
free table and work your way to a $100
Satelite to the WSOP. Imagine winning
that. You think you can play poker?
Start with ZERO and win your way to the
WSOP.
Everest Poker is a hidden gem. You
simply must try it.
