September 2004 Cashflow Poker Profits
This month I decided to turn it up a notch and actually dedicate and devote time to online play. I've
been playing less and less as this site has grown and expanded. But, I switched gears and parked myself
in front of my computer several times this month. My game, I believe, is getting stronger, I think I'm
making fewer mistakes in my sessions. And this month, I started playing 4 simultaneous tables
rather than my normal 3.
Anyway, I tackled both Empire, Party, and even tested out Full Tilt Poker, and was profitable at all three
poker rooms. My streak continues to 12 consecutive months of profitable poker play - that's not a
lucky year-long run of cards - it's simple, solid, strategy. That's what we teach, discuss, tweak, and
improve on here at FTR. I've been playing hold'em poker for about 14 months,
the first two months I sucked, which I talk about on the home page - I was learning on my own.
Back then I was figuring out limit poker at Paradise. And now, as you all know,
I'm a no limit player at Party and Empire.
Anyway, one of the things I've noticed about my game is that there is very little variance in cash flow
and bankroll (thankfully!). If you look at my cashier's histories below, all I perform are cashouts. I
have one deposit at Empire, but that was only to take advantage of one of their bonuses, and then I
immediately withdraw it. So, if you look back at my cashier's histories over the months, I don't make
many deposits (which means I don't go bust very often), and when I do make a deposit, it's only for $100.
And that $100 can provide me enough bankroll to withdraw $700-$900 in profits and last me a couple of months.
This, I think, is one differentiating factor between No Limit Hold'em, and Limit Hold'em. Limit requires
a much larger bankroll to accomodate for the innate fluctuations inherent in that form of the game. Anyway,
early on this month I had made a mental note to devote more time to online play, and I'm glad I did.
