WSOP
The World Series of Poker Tournament Schedule was released recently, allowing for players to begin to make their plans for a summer in Las Vegas. The time for poker pros and recreational players alike to head down to the Rio for potential riches begins May 27th, starting with the $500 Casino Dealers event and concluding with the the famed $10,000 Main Event.
Also released recently was the news that the W.S.O.P planned to drop the “November Nine” from its 10k Main Event rotation. With the live stream with a slight delay becoming more popular, the W.S.O.P. deemed the “November Nine” to go against the spirit of the game and unnecessary. This news was greeted with applause and satisfaction around the poker world.
There are some very cool and interesting tournaments added this year including the Doubles tournament, where a team of two people take turns playing hands, as well as Guy Laliberte’s One For the One Drop, which will feature a one million dollar buy-in. This year’s W.S.O.P will be featuring tournaments for everyone ranging from No-Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha to H.O.R.S.E and 10-game. Also included are exclusive events for seniors and ladies. In past years, the women’s event has been clouded by men who play as a joke. This, hopefully, will cease this year. Regardless, players of all kinds, young and old, as well as online and live, are sure to clash and create an exciting summer in Vegas.
