Week 3 of the PokerStars Big Game has concluded.
The PokerStars.net “Big Game” is a televised high stakes cash game where an amateur Loose Cannon, provided with a $100,000 stake, faces off with poker professionals. The Loose Cannon retains any profit they manage to make over 150 hands. Additionally, the Loose Cannon that makes the most money will be awarded with an NAPT Passport that allows them free entry to all events on the NAPT Circuit next year. This week, the Loose Cannon, Nadya Magnus, was pitted against a mixture of young talent and seasoned veterans. Magnus is no slouch. In 2009 she took down a World Series Circuit Event. The Russian beauty was seated in the company of poker legend Barry Greenstein and WSOP Main Event Champion Joe Cada. Jason Mercier, Justin Bonomo, Joe Cassidy, and cash game specialist Daniel Alaei rounded out the line-up.

, giving Magnus a full house. Mercier checks for the third time. After contemplating, Magnus bets $13,200 for value. Mercier makes a crying call and chastises himself after Magnus shows him a boat. She rakes in a pot of $47,000.

. The action is on Magnus who fires $2,100 into the pot. Bonomo makes the call. The turn is the 9
which gives Bonomo a straight-flush draw. Magnus bets $5,100 and Bonomo makes the easy call. The Q
is dealt on the river, giving Magnus a straight. She gets tricky and checks the scary river card. Bonomo takes the bait and overbets the pot. Magnus shoves all-in and Bonomo has no choice but to fold. The Loose Cannon takes down another healthy pot.

on the turn gives Mercier a top pair but he is drawing dead to ZeeJustin’s flush. Mercier checks to Bonomo who fires $11,000 into a $12,000 pot. Mercier makes the call. The river is a brick and Mericer checks once again. Bonomo quickly fires a $30,000 bet and Mercier makes an all-in raise, hoping Bonomo folds. Unfortunately, Mercier has run into the top of Bonomo’s range. Bonomo makes the call and collects a pot worth more than a quarter million dollars.
