PokerStars let it be known that their Supernova Elite can expect some changes coming their way in 2011. Supernova Elite is the highest level in Pokerstars’ VIP Club. An announcement from PokerStars detailing these changes is expected very soon.

Supernova Elite is earned by accumulating 1,000,000 VPPs (VIP Player Points) in a year. For the calendar year 2010, over 150 players are expected to earn the status of Supernova Elite, which entitles members to cash, prizes, tournament entries, trips, and much more. The estimated cash value of Supernova Elite is more than $100,000 per year. Notable Supernova Elite players include Randy “Nanononoko” Lew, George “Jorj95″ Lind, Dusty “Leatherass9″ Schmidt and many other notable high stakes players, multi-tablers and mass volume grinders.

What will be the changes to Supernova Elite? Some speculate that it may be a change to how bonuses are released, but no word yet from PokerStars to confirm or deny this. Stay tuned to find out. The official announcement is expected to come in mid to late December, just in time for those players with grind on their mind, gunning for Supernova Elite in 2011!
