Poker-Stars Sets World Record!

Poker-Stars Sets World Record!

Posted on 29 December 2008 at 10:30 pm EST by cr4zybe4utifu1 | Permalink

PokerStars set not only one, but two records this past Sunday!  As originally planned, they hosted the largest poker tournament ever with 35,000 players!  That landed PokerStars in the Guinness Book of World Records.  And then, without trying, PokerStars set another record for having the most players logged in at once - over 250,500!

Players showed up to fill every vacant seat for the $10 + $1 buy-in NL Hold’em tournament and take their chance to bring home a slice of the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.  In fact, all the seats sold out days before the action even began.  Of the 35,000, 8,750 players took home a piece of the pie, but only one walked away with the satisfaction of taking down the largest poker tournament ever.

Here are the results of the final table:

1 stan34powa — $30,000.00
2 meiky777 — $20,000.00
3 rumred14 — $15,000.00
4 Goldman007 — $10,000.00
5 Nekochan48 — $7,500.00
6 gustave44 — $5,000.00
7 n0ideahh — $3,500.00
8 alepolice — $2,500.00
9 ONE_TIMEE — $2,000.00
10 FuFish — $1,500.00

It was an astounding Sunday for PokerStars, and an excellent one for its players.  Congratulations to all the participants!
