Following a disheartening $1.7 million downswing, Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond has hit an incredible hot stretch. Following a recent session with noted pro Scott “URnotINdanger2″ Palmer, the gutsy Galfond managed to rake in an incredible $646,000.

Prior to this win, he’d managed to snag a large chunk of cash from Full Tilt pro Gus Hansen, who had himself been enjoying a nice run. In both cases, the game was heads-up $500/$1,000 Cap Pot Limit Omaha. Hansen, already down $58,000 from an earlier session with Dan “jungleman12″ Cates, proceeded to suffer a 74-hand beating by Galfond. In total, the Danish pro lost $199,000 to his opponent, bringing his losses on the day to $257k.

The final hand of the match saw the challenger catching a lucky three eights, after which Hansen immediately signed out.

Prior to his win, “OMGClayAiken” had been in the middle of a $1.7 million losing streak. Much of his drops had come in 2-7 Triple Draw.

Aforementioned loss aside, Hansen is still off to a promising start. His year so far has seen many gains, one of the largest of which took place only a few days back, when he himself trimmed Di “URinDanger” Dang for $250,000 in only 12 minutes. Even with the recent loss, the Great Dane is still up over a million in the online world, with now more than $1.3 million in gains.
