Los Angeles has historically been one of America’s largest poker markets, but it has never hosted a WSOP Circuit event. This all changes on January 1, 2012. For twelve days, the Bicycle Casino in L.A. will ring in the new year with the first WSOP Circuit to be held in the city.

“The process of bringing the World Series of Poker to Los Angeles has been a long time in the making, and we are very pleased with the finalization of our partnership,” said Hashem Minaiy, Managing Partner and CEO of the Bicycle Casino. “Players have wanted to play a WSOP event in L.A. where poker has always been king, and the Bicycle Casino is considered a key venue for players worldwide.”

Every WSOP Circuit Event features a $1,600 buy-in Main Event, normally including re-entries. To increase exposure and boost popularity, many of 2012′s Circuit events will be broadcast live online. To watch the L.A. events, tune in to liveatthebike.com.

“With the WSOP Circuit Tour breaking records at every stop, it was finally the right time to come to LA for a signature mid-season event,” said Ty Stewart, WSOP Executive Director. “We’re pleased to enter a multi-year agreement with the Bicycle Casino for what is certain to be one of our largest annual events.”
