Pocket Kings Ltd., longtime force behind the Full Tilt Poker machine, has announced another round of layoffs in their work force. These firings took place between Wednesday and Friday of this last week, with as many as 180 people finding themselves out of work.
“The Ireland-based company,” says PokerNews, “which has provided software, information technology, customer support, and other services for Full Tilt Poker, has now watched at least 400 employees walk out the door since Black Friday.”
Initially, these dismissals were not intended to be permanent. The 250 workers who received their notice this past September were scheduled to be away from their offices for four weeks. During that time, Pocket Kings took a hard look at the structure of their company, eventually deciding that their current operation could get along without nearly all of the employees in question.
As one would expect, several of these former Full Tilt workers have taken to the internet in order to vent their (admittedly justifiable) frustration. Some have been answering questions on the popular TwoPlusTwo forums, allowing users an inside look at the world behind the Full Tilt curtain. One individual went so far as to suggest that the pending sale to Group Bernard Tapie will fall apart, which would ultimately result in the failure of the company.
Stay tuned for further information as more details leak out.
