Full Tilt Poker, the online poker giant, has recently announced some major changes to their poker room. Multi-table tournament players will see the biggest change to their games. Other changes involve FTP’s newest reward scheme, the Black Card. The functionality of cash game tables has also changed a bit. All in all, these changes are sure to be welcome with open arms by the poker community.
The latest in online poker innovations seem to always stem from Full Tilt Poker. This update is no different. Full Tilt Poker will now run multi-entry tournaments, or METs. As the name might indicate, players that register for these tournaments are allowed to buy in multiple times. There is no unfair advantage with doing this since all players will be allowed to enter multiple times, players will never be seated with themselves, and if players have more entries than tables, their stacks will be merged. Multi-entries will be limited to four entries but this is subject to change in the future.
Black Card tiers are also being introduced and give high volume players major incentive to grind out tons of Full Tilt Points, or FTPs, per day. Players that earn an average of 1,500 FTPs per day over an 100-day span will earn 3x FTPs while those that earn 3,000 FTPs over an 100-day span will earn 4x FTPs. This may be compounded with shorthanded games and Happy Hours to earn up to 6x FTPs! An added perk to being part of these top two tiers is the upcoming Black Card Carte Blanche. This is basically a concierge program that will launch at the end of January or the beginning of February. The teaser will be seen in the Black Card store very soon.
Other changes at Full Tilt Poker are minor compared to the other two. Following in PokerStars’ footsteps, Full Tilt Poker will install a “Sit Out Next BB At All Tables” button. This button will be found by the “Sit out next hand” and “Sit out next BB” checkboxes. FTOPS XIX will be starting quite soon and FTP is planning on adding new events to the already impressive roster. These include Badugi, 9-game, and the new MET tournaments released in this same update.
This update is Full Tilt Poker’s answer to PokerStars’ recent changes. The Black Card tiers makes it extremely lucrative for high volume players to play at Full Tilt Poker. The multi-entry tournaments will definitely attract tournament players looking to lower their variance. The best way to find out about these changes is to log into Full Tilt Poker and find out for yourself! Good luck at the felt!
