Emmitt Smith Signs with Full Tilt

Just a few weeks after the Super Bowl, Full Tilt Poker has signed Emmitt Smith, the NFL’s all-time leading rusher, to a representative contract.

As the newest “Friend of FullTiltPoker.net”, Smith will compete under the company’s flag in several live tournaments. His first opportunity will come in only two days, when he sits down for the “National Heads-Up Poker Championship”, held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Though most know Smith for his time with the Cowboys and Cardinals, the three-time Super Bowl winner also boasts a notable poker resume. Foremost among these, perhaps, is a heads-up win over fellow Full Tilt pro Phil Ivey. This victory came last year during the 2010 Celebrity Invitational Charity Tournament, earning him a seat in the 2010 WSOP Main Event. He played well, but was eventually eliminated when a full house cracked his trip-tens.

Just a month later, Smith was selected to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, in his first year of eligibility. He owns 18,355 career rushing yards and 175 total touchdowns.

Outside of his sporting accomplishments, Smith has made a name for himself as a successful real estate developer. He is also an accomplished dancer, capturing a victory during the third season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

A resident of Dallas, Smith runs an aptly named charity organization with the help of his wife, Patt – “Emmitt and Pat Smith Charities.”
